Jimins mother picked Taehyung and Jimin up from school. They sat on the backseat sharing earphones, listening to slow music and looking out of the windows on the grey sky and the busy traffic in the rain.
The ride to the hospital took forever. The picture of Ellie was stuck in Taehyung head. He had never seen Ellie being the weak one before, it was always him or Jimin. Ellie was the strong one and she's always been, but now?
They arrived to the hospital and walked in to the lobby.
Taehyung hated hospitals actually. Even though his mother was a surgeon and he loved Grey's anatomy, he hated being there himself. The smell, the vibe and the lighting just screamed death. The people who sat in the waiting area, waiting for answers from their loved ones, just stared at the floor or straight out in the air.
Taehyung's mother turned around the corner in her dark blue uniform with a clipboard in her hand. Her hair was up in a messy ponytail. She had worked for a lot of hours and looked tired.
Taehyung had never compared his mothers work to Grey's anatomy, cause here it was way more real than a medical drama on tv, here people was really dying.
They stood up and looked at her.
She hugged Taehyung, and looked him into his eyes with that 'im sorry' look.
"Ellie is alright, it wasn't a good idea to play volleyball with her condition" she said as she looked through the papers on the clipboard.
"her condition?" Jimin asked with furrowed eyebrows, Taehyung glanced at his confused best friend as he gulped.
"can we see her, mom?" he asked, to avoid the cancer conversation and Jimin's reaction.

The awful beep, from the heart rate echoed in the room when they stepped in.
Taehyung's shoulders sunk when he saw Ellie in the bed. She was still pale, her eyes was closed, her mouth and chin was covered by an oxygen mask. Her hair was up in a high messy bun.
Taehyung knew that it was his mother who did that with her hair, she knew it was Ellie's absolute favorite way to style her hair, he smiled a little at the thought.
Jimin was having breathing issues beside him, on the edge of crying. Taehyung turned to him and hugged him. "I- I don't understand what happened, h- how c- can she just be fine in one second and- and be like that in another?" Jimin sobbed into Taehyung's shoulder. Tears started rolling down Taehyungs cheeks as well.
"stop crying pussies" someone in the room said.
Jimin jumped away from Taehyung's shoulder and looked towards the bed in shock.
Ellie was currently trying to take off the oxygen mask, that apparently wasn't necessary when you were Ellie.
Both of the boys rushed to each side of the bed hugging their friend. "Imma need that oxygen mask again if you keep strangling me like that" Ellie groaned underneath the boys.
Taehyung and Jimin laughed and pulled away, right when someone stepped in to the room.
Elias stood in his football outfit, you know those with the big shoulder pads, Taehyung couldn't remember what they are called. He was breathing loud and water was dripping from his uniform like he'd just ran through the rain all the way from school.
Taehyung noticed that Ellie stopped laughing. He looked at Jimin who looked at Elias with furrowed eyebrows.
"uhm Jimin I saw a coffee machine in the lobby, let's go look at it" he said looking at Jimin and nodded towards the door. "Ohh i love looking at coffee machines" Jimin said with an ironic voice.
