Daniella quickened her pace, running faster and faster towards the edge but it seemed no matter how quick she went Rose was always just out of reach! The rocks turned wet and slippery, stepping on a loose stone she stumbled, nearly twisting her ankle but slamming her foot on the ground just in time to regain balance. Daniella shook her head, she couldn't let Rose get away!

"DANIELLA! PLEASE! Y-YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND SHE'S NOT REALLY-! AAHHH-!" A piercing high pitched voice rung behind her, Daniella ignored it. She kept going, sprinting with gritted teeth she was nearly there. Nearly at the edge. No where for Rose to hide now! Just as quickly as she had been running, Rose stopped dead at the edge. Cloak skidding to a halt as it wrapped around her, Daniella smiled.

Nowhere for her to hide, nowhere to go. She thought, holding her arms out to the side, ready to tackle Rose to the ground!

"D-DANIELLA-! P-PLEASE! HELP!"

"N-no." Daniella muttered as time froze. She looked on at Rose, just standing there! She knew she had her this time, she KNEW it. But Arina's voice echoed through her ears, she sounded like she was in danger! The thought wound her stomach in knots she couldn't untangle.

"ARINA! J-JUST HANG ON! I'M COMING!" Daniella yelled! Rushing back across the slippery rocks she jolted in fear at the sight! Clutching at a small ledge, her arms flexed in futile attempts to pull herself back up, she was trembling. Daniella was too.

"D-DANI?" Arina's eyes opened wide in an unbelieving stare. Daniella's heart dropped, did Arina really think she wouldn't come back for her? Dropping to the ground, she winced as the sharp rocks dug into her stomach. Thrusting her arm out towards Arina, she tried to grab on but just it was just out of her reach!

"I-I can't-!" She called up.

"Uh- okay! Just, stay calm. I'll figure something out." Daniella replied, staring curiously as the panic slowly started to fade from her face. Arina nodded with a faithful smile.

"Um- Hey, is it too early for nicknames? Cause I- I didn't mean to-"

"Don't want to interrupt, but this really isn't the time for conversation!" Daniella reminded her, gesturing at the the situation at hand.

"S-sorry!" Arina apologised, letting out a small cry of pain as she struggled to keep herself up.

"No, it's fine... Ari." Daniella replied, cringing a little at herself her face scrunched up in awkward self consciousness. To her relief, Arina started giggling. That rare flash of confidence once again flickering in her eyes.

"Alrighty then, hurry up and get me out of here already! It's starting to hurt." She said, stutterless. Daniella lingered on her words for a moment before snapping back to her senses.

"R-right! Yes!" She said quickly, moving herself forward so more of her torso hung off the edge. Reaching down again but Arina was still just too far. Daniella sighed annoyed, she moved even further forward, the side of the cliff now at the base of her hips.

Arina's face flushed white, the relief she'd harboured just a moments ago washed away in an instant. "NO! STOP! Y-you'll fall too!" She screamed, Daniella shook her head.

"It's fine, don't worry about me." She replied, holding out her arm which was now within Arina's reach. She stared at it for a second, biting her lip.

"I-I can't-! What if you can't support my weight like that? Then we'll both fall!" Just like that her streak of confidence was gone, the colour in her arm had faded, her knuckles had turned white from hanging on so long, small drops of blood dripped from her fingers as they gripped onto the spikey ledge for dear life. But despite all that, the that broke her was Daniella's proposal of self sacrifice.

"It's okay, trust me. Just grab my hand, I'll-"

"NO!" She cried again, "Don't risk your life me Daniella!" A few stones broke off from her ledge, rolling down the cliff and splashing into the rocky sea below.

"I'm NOT. Look, I-I can't explain it right now, you just have to trust me." Daniella said seriously. Extending her arm down as far as it would go to try and grab onto Arina's.

"Y-you promise you'll be okay?" Arina's voice shook, Daniella nodded. "I promise."

With that she shut her eyes tight, reaching up slowly with her other hand Daniella smiled. She had her hand open around Arina's wrist, about to close it in a tight grip when she heard a cracking sound, then a scream!

"ARINA!" Daniella yelled as she fell away from her! The ledge had broken off, she started falling down a 100 foot drop, her terrified scream pierced through Daniella like a knife! Jumping to her feet adrenaline ran through her veins! She stamped her foot hard against the edge of the cliff, launching herself off she dove after her! Hair sweeping in her face, she brushed it away to see Arina, time slowed to a halt as she looked on at what Daniella had done in horror.
