Author's note: Hello! And welcome to my first ever actual non one shot story! Technically this isn't a Whump fanfiction, but there are going to be a lot of "Whumpy" scenes, so if you're interested in that stay tuned ;)
Currently the cover is in progress, but I thought I'd give you a little teaser chapter to start things off!
The story follows Arina and Daniella, by day normal high school students, by night superhuman crime fighters... Unaware of each others existence, what will happen when they find out there's more than one magical girl in school?
This fanfiction was inspired by the new Game Gyaru stuff, and by @Caramelzip5 and her story "Trapped (egobang trans)" if you haven't already, check her out cause she makes some awesome stuff over there!
Anyway without further ado let's begin!
---------------------------------------------------------Daniella walked casually through the halls, it was a pretty average day, although most days at this school seemed to be average... Tucking a piece of curly hair behind her ear she opened a locker, taking a few things out then slamming it back shut.
"Hey!" A voice sounded, Daniella jumped back and closed her hands into fists as suddenly in the space previously occupied by the locker door, a girl stood inches away from her.
"Brianna! Jesus, I was so close to sucker punching you right there." Daniella sighed, letting her shoulders relax.
Brianna giggled, "Sure you were." She mused, giving her a look.
She was Daniella's best, and only friend. Daniella had specifically planned to not make any friends, it just made keeping her secret all the more difficult. Though, as she found out quickly, nothing got past Brianna's piercing blue gaze. She had found out her secret within a week of arriving at the new school, during what they now refer to as "the stalker incident." Daniella was trying to gather information on Brianna, like she tried to with everyone. It helped her keep track of who she could trust, and who she needed to keep tabs on. It just so happened that Danielle was really bad at it. Hiding up a tree Brianna was sat under, going through some maths homework. Daniella had almost completely forgotten about her mission, entranced by how seamlessly she was getting through it all, Brianna was a genius! She was so distracted Daniella didn't hear the cracking sound of the branch she was leaning on, and with a high pitched scream fell tumbling to the ground in a mess of leaves and sticks. Groaning and standing up she brushed the dirt off her shirt, then noticed Brianna laying unmoving on the ground.
Daniella gasped, looking around frantically. "OH GOD I KILLED A HUMAN!" She yelled, immediately regretting yelling that. Just then Brianna moved, opening her eyes slowly to see a very worried and distraught, messy haired girl hiding behind a tree.
In her guilty panic Daniella told Brianna everything, she stared wide eyed and skeptical. Asking for proof, and Daniella took out a little pendent from underneath her shirt, placing a finger on the blue gemstone in the middle a bright blue light erupted from it and surrounded Daniella. Next thing Brianna knew she was wearing a full costume, primarily blue, with a brown leather jacket decorated with various pins and badges. She looked like something out of an anime! From that day on Brianna never left Daniella alone.
"So, any news?" Daniella asked in a hushed voice. Once the panic of making sure Brianna didn't tell anyone had passed, she found a good use for her, keeping an eye out for trouble and things that could pose a threat to her secrecy. Brianna was well up for being a spy, and a lot better at it than Daniella. Since then the two worked well together. Daniella was thankful for her friendship, but hardly longed for another. It would just put them at risk...
Brianna shifted her eyes back and forth, there were a large amount of people in the halls but they all seemed pretty occupied with their own activities and conversations. "There's a new girl coming today," She said at last with a smirk.
Daniella's eyes widened, then narrowed again. "Do we have any info on her?"
"Nope, no one even knows where she's transferred from... Pretty weird if you ask me."
Bringing a fist up to her lips, she scanned the room for any sign of something new. "Very weird, Bri..." She agreed.
Brianna was about to speak up again when something caught her eye. "Dani, look!" She said, slapping her gently on the shoulder. Daniella's head snapped to where she was pointing.
The sea of kids parted as someone new walked through the creaky hallowed halls, in it's wake emerged a nervous looking girl, face hid under the hood of her pink hoodie, and a sketchbook clutched tightly to her chest. She looked extremely surprised at the sudden spotlight the school had put her in, looking left to right anxiously she froze in place.
Daniella and Brianna exchanged a look, Daniella nodded and mouthed "Go." Brianna sidled confidently over to the girl, giving her a small wave she ducked her head slightly to try and see her face under the hood.
"Don't mind them," She opened with a smile. "It's not often anything interesting happens around here, small town y'know? My name's Brianna, whats yours?"
The girl lifted her head a little to meet Brianna's eyes, giving a weak smile she answered softly. "A-Arina."
Daniella crept a few paces closer, slumping back against a locker and trying her best to look casual, she turned an ear to their conversation. Looking Arina up and down, she noticed a lock of blonde, in her otherwise brown hair.
"Nice to meet you Arina, how are you handling the move? Adjusting can be pretty tricky. Say, where exactly did you transfer from again?" Brianna pestered, tilting her head with an innocent smile.
"U-um, hey, it was nice meeting you but I-I should probably get going... Bye." Arina muttered nervously, stepping around Brianna as she didn't move out of her way.
"Oh, alright. Well, if you want to talk give me a call!" Brianna called out to her as she walked away.
"You didn't give me your number?" Arina said back, turning around confused.
"You're so right! Silly me, well you know I can fix that if you wan-"
"No thank you, bye!" Arina said quickly, and ran off down the hall, leaving Brianna alone to slump her shoulder down and sigh.
"Nice job." Daniella said flatly as Brianna walked back to her in defeat. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up." She responded with an eye roll. Daniella smirked, and did just that.
