"Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.... I'm just going to ignore it then. If. That's okay?" you asked.

"s-sure." Sans stuttered. "but... are you sure you're okay?"

You both sat in silence for a while until you fully realized that you were in his room again. You still don't want to tell him what's wrong, but he keeps pushing you. Keeps telling you that he knows something is wrong. So you make something up. Kinda.

"I just can't help but think that I've done this before. But. That imposible, right? I would have recognised you when I met you. R-right?" You laugh nervously.

Sans tenses up. Freezes. His eye sockets completely back. you cant tell what's going on with him. Is he okay? Does he know something you don't. Or maybe...

"so you don't remember anything? nothing at all." he asks, his eyes still pitch black.

"What are you talking about?" you reply, confused.

Sans grabs you by the wrists, turning his whole body to you. His eyes dark with worry."kid. please. i need you to remember me. c'mon. anything? you've done this route before. i need you to stop killing yourself for us. i need you to fight this time. please.. you did it once, got us our happy ending, so why are you killing yourself this time. why aren't you saving? kid. please... i need you to fight asgore this time. in order to stay with us, in order for all of us to be on the surface, you have to save right before. you have to kill asgore then reset."

Wait. What did he just say? You're 'killing yourself'? What does he mean by that? And 'saving'? this isn't some sort of game where you can save your every action. But the pleading tone of his voice tells you that this has to be true. But how? That's not possible?

"frisk... please...."Sans pleas.

"W-what did you just say?"

"frisk... i know this makes no sense. and. i know you don't understand how i could know your name but trust me. please... frisk... i can't keep seeing your body in that coffin... i can't keep seeing asgore absorb your soul and break the barrier. i just can't. you have to trust me. flowey can explain everything else to you once asgore is dead. i need you to stop killing yourself! please!"

"How do you know my name...?" you ask out of fear, scrambling out of his grip. "Sans.. what's going on?"

"i need you to just listen. okay?"

You sigh. Doesn't seem like you have a choice in the matter.

"Well... could you at least tell me how you know my name first?"

"frisk. do you know the legend amongst the monsters down here in the underground?" Sans asks.

You sigh again. "I think so."

"it tells the story of an angel who will come from the surface and clear all the monsters from the underground. and you, frisk, are that angel. you are the one who has the choice whether or not to save us all, or kill us all. i admit. you have done some wrong in the past, but you never got past me when that happened. you'd always get half way, then quit, reset, do the other route instead. you, frisk, are a true pacifist." Sans tells you.

Your mind went blank. Were those your visions?

"think. think of anything you might know about me. asgore. anybody!"

"I'm trying!"

You close your eyes and concentrate on trying to think of something. Then a thought hits your mind. one image, clear as day. It's you. Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Alphys, Undyne, and Asgore. You're all standing on a ledge, right outside the barrier. You remember going to a temporary home to live with Toriel. You remember Flowey taking the six human souls, and the monster souls. Going back into the Underground, all the way to the ruins to see Asriel. You remember everything. How many times you've killed monsters with a whisper in your ear. And Sans was right. You never got passed him.

"Sans." you said.

"yeah?"

"Why didn't you kill me until I got halfway? You could have saved those who were left so much faster."

Sans smiles then frowns. "i just..." he trails off.

His hands are cooling down, but the expression on his face heats, blue blush covering his face in an instant. You smile a bit. Then your cheeks heat as he looks up to you. Your heart rams in your chest, and you feel the sudden urge to lean in and...

"i just couldn't kill an angel." Sans says, leaning in and closing his eye sockets.

You knew this was coming. His hand resting on your leg is steaming hot again, but... you couldn't help but interrupting by asking what he meant by that.

He stops. Opens his eyes, and looks up at you. He chuckles.

"hehe... welp... it was worth a shot." Sans says, leaning back and flopping his back end to the bed, closing his eyes and sighing.

"I-I... I'm sorry.. I-I don't know w-what I'm doing...." You say.

He opens one eye and looks up to you. "you sound like alphys." he chuckles.

You pout, crossing your arms.

"That's not what I meant!" you shout.

Sans' expression gets more serious. You can feel the tension building up from both of you. After all, just realizing that you've done this before sends a shiver down your spine. Flowey. That's why he was so annoyed with you at the start. He must remember the timelines too. But what about the rest of them?

"How long have you known me?" you ask.

"heh. long enough." Sans says, closing his eyes again and putting his hands over his head.

"Give me a time." you say.

His eyes open again and he sits up with a gruff. Then he stands up and pulls you up with him.

"i've known you ever since you were this high." he says, putting one of his hands on his shoulder, indicating you were younger in a past reset.

"Wait. That doesn't make any sense." you tell him.

"how so?" he asks.

"If I'm resetting, wouldn't my body reset as well? How could I have grown up? How old was I the first time you ever met me on that bridge?"

He fumbles with his words. "uh.. well.. last t-thing. i mean. last time i checked. wait. uh..... i mean! you were, 16"

You freeze. "I'm 18! You've known me for two years?!" you shout.

"g-guess so... heh.." Sans replies.
