"fran..?" Sans repeated the name to himself as he silently glanced at the baby.
He gave a soft smile. Even if they weren't married quite yet, he still loved you and his daughter. Gaster would never understand that kind of love... ever. He would never understand the love a father can have for their children, or partner. Not when he abandoned his own children, and for what? 'The sake of monster kind'? No. For his own experiment and curiosity.
"S-Sans..?" You lifted your hand weakly to meet the side of his face. "Are you okay..?"
When he turned his skull back to look at you, his eye sockets were filled with tears, but his face showed a smile filled with joy and light. He collapsed onto you and you winced a little as he hugged you tight, crying into the hospital blankets.
"fran is beautiful." He mumbled. "just like her mother.."
"Franchesca." You told him. "That's her full name."
He looked up from the sheets now soaked with his magical, watery tears. You carefully sat up, elevating the bed to allow you to have a place for your back.
"from france." he said. "her name is 'from france', that's so clever.."
You laughed, it hurt a bit, but you were fine with it. "And it's close to our names. 'Fr' for Frisk, 'an' for Sans."
He smerked again, obviosly thinking about something stupid, but of course it would be funny. This is Sans that we're talking about after all.
"could've just named her, frans." he said, causing you to snort. "however, her name is really 'fran'-tastic as it is."
You threw a pillow at him.

You finally were able to go home after two days of being in the hospital. The healing process and transferring blood back into your system took more time than they thought. Probably because the hospital was first designed for monsters instead of humans. Fran stayed in the hospital with you, only because of her desperate need of breastfeeding.
You wern't sure how Gaster was going to react. Would he try to kill her..? The Dreemurrs have all seen Fran at the hospital, but you were positive they'd show up at your house sooner or later. Maybe not today, but definitely sometime soon.
You were in the front seat of the car, and Sans was driving beside you. He had picked up a baby seat and carrier yesterday and Fran was in the back seat. However, Sans wouldn't hold her, you had to carry her all the way to the car from the hospital room, and you had to clip her into the carrier for her to get in the car. It was kinda annoying, honestly.
"Why won't you hold her?" You asked as you pulled into the driveway of your now over capacitated house.
He was silent for a moment as the car parked. "because i'm not her dad yet." He took a breath. "and... i want to be before i hold her as my own."
You sighed to yourself. If he wants that so badly, why hasn't he talked to you about the wedding? You ARE engaged after all, so why hasn't he talked to you about it?
You got out of the car and walked slowly to the back seat, grabbed Fran's carrier, and went inside. As soon as you opened the door, Papyrus almost jumped on top of you with how fast he came to hug and congratulate you. Gaster was standing behind him, and you were prepared for something horrible to happen, but the look on his face showed something else. Kindness, and a feeling of safety and security as he smiled towards you in a way you've never seen from him before.
"Everything went alright at the hospital?" His voice was soft, comforting.
Sans stepped in front of you, eyelights narrow and cold as he looked at his father. "none of your goddamn business."
Sans grabbed your free hand and led you upstairs, following Papyrus to his room. When he opened the door, you started tearing up. Papyrus' room looked like a childs bedroom already, but seeing the crib on the other side of the room make your heart melt.
"SHE CAN SLEEP IN MY ROOM! THEN I'LL HAVE A LITTLE ROOMATE LIKE SANS!" Papyrus said proudly, "ONLY DIFFERENCE IS... SHE'S A BABY..."
"Papyrus..." You hugged him with one arm and put the carrier down to put Fran into bed.
"turns into an actual bed when she gets older." Sans leaned down to you and whispered in your ear. "tried to put her in our room, but he said that he didn't want you to worry for now."
You stood up, carefully placed Fran quietly in her crib, and all three of you walked out. You kissed Papyrus lightly on the cheek, and thanked him. As you were going downstairs, you heard the faintest cry come from the room you left. You sighed and smiled, telling Sans that you'd take care of it, and went back into the room.
Even in the past couple days, she's been getting a bit bigger. What was surprising to you though, was the fat that she still hadn't opened her eyes.
"m-ma!" She whined. "M-maaaa!"
"Shhhh.... It's okay..." You picked her up and bounced her softly in your arms to try and make her fall asleep again. "It's gonna be okay...."
You closed your eyes and hummed a soft tune as you softly rubbed the back of her small head. She looked completely human, but she was definitely a monster when it came to how fast she was growing.
"Quite the little miracle, wouldn't you agree?" A voice said behind you. "Interesting to say the least."
You turned around to face him. "What do you want, Gaster?"
The way you said the sentence was a bit harsher than you usually spoke, but you had a good reason. Speaking of which, he placed one of his hands on his chest, pretending to be hurt by it.
"My goodness." He spoke softly again. "I really am sorry, Frisk. If that makes a difference."
You continued to lightly bounce Fran in your arms as you spoke. "Well. It doesn't." You breathed, "and I'd appreciate if you'd just drop the whole thing."
"My apologies. I wish I could help you understand me, but I've been gone for so long." He told you. "I know almost nothing about my sons, or the people that are in their lives."
He sighed and frowned as he raised his right hand. "Never had the time to learn about my family." A pause as he put his fingers together. "Wish I could just go back sometimes..."
He snapped his fingers and was gone in a flash of purple. A dark coloured hue remaining in the spot he stood.
You looked at your beautiful princess. She was fast asleep on your shoulder, sucking on her thumb as you carefully put her back to bed and exited the room as quietly as before.
