You and Sans were in the back now. You were sitting on the counter next to the blueprints, handing him tools when he needed them. He was wearing a black shirt and his basketball shorts. A lab coat, that you didn't even know he owned, was on the counter beside you. He worked like his life literally depended on it, definitely in more of a serious mood than he was a half hour ago. Not that he wasn't serious about what you two did, it's just this was definitely a different type of serious.
"i still can't believe you actually let me do that to you." he said, smirk forming on his face.
"I-I said I w-wanted to!" You said quickly.
"who knew someone could change their mind about something in only a few minutes." he continued.
You blushed intensely. "W-well... I.."
He laughed at your stutter and you crossed your arms in a huff.
You leaned down and whispered "It was because I was with you.."
He stopped for a second before smiling and blushing brightly. He didn't say anything, just smiled to himself and started working on the machine again. His hands were covered in oil. You were quietly on your phone while he worked. You crossed your legs and he looked at you for a split second.
"on your phone, huh?" he asked.
"Just checking in on how Chara's doing, Azzy came home about fifteen minutes ago." You explained.
Sans nodded and went back to work, asking for a wrench that you gladly gave him.
You opened the drawer with the photo and pulled it out. You wanted to know who those people were.
"Who are they?" you asked as you showed him the pictures.
He looked over at you and his eyes widened a little. He turned back to his work with a blank expression as he spoke.
"the human is kris, monster is his best friend susie. I met them a little while ago, classic work and stuff. alternate timeline bullcrap." he explained. "they're a little older than you are, actually. two years or so."
"Oh." you say a little confused. "What about the whole, 'don't forget' thing on the back."
"just a timeline thing, y'know?" he said. "way to remember them... just... don't forget."
He kept working on the machine, and you wondered if it was for traveling through time, like what your determination lets you do when you die or reset.
"okay.." he stood up."let's test it again..."
"What is it supposed to do, exactly?" you asked curiously.
He snapped his fingers, cleaning the oil off his hands and grabbed his lab coat off the counter to put it on.
"you'd think i was crazy if i told you what it's supposed to do." he explained. "let's just hope it works."
He pressed a button on the side of the machine and it started. Light started to form inside the glass doors and Sans' face lit up. You looked at the blueprints beside you to at least try and see if this was what was supposed to happen. The strange symbols that were written on them started to waver, almost like they were glitching.
The symbols changed to lettering, clear as day english on the page. The top said "Void Connector".
The room started to shake before you could read more, tools still on the counter were falling to the floor with a clank. You got off the counter before you fell off too, clutching onto Sans' arm.
The center of the bright light turned black, and you wondered if Sans just made a black hole in your freaking house.
The glass door opened and you clutched onto Sans tighter as he walked towards it.
A figure started to form through the black light and Sans staggered back a bit. Stepping in front of you just in case and you heard his left eye ping with the readying of his magic.
When the monster was fully through the light and stepped out of the door, the door closed, turning off the machine. The monster was a skeleton, taller than Sans but still shorter than Papyrus. He was wearing a lab coat with a black sweater and black pants and shoes. His face had cracks on his eyes. His right eye had cracks going upward, and his left had them going down. He looked proud, and Sans' body wavered and you could feel the magic he was using fade away.
"Sans..." The man said holding out an arm.
Then you saw the holes in his hands. Both of his hands had perfect circular holes right in the center.
Sans rushed forward, practically pushing you away from him and hugged the man.
"i... i thought i'd never see you again..." Sans sobbed.
"Sans.. I told you that you would... You are a very smart monster, why do you think I told you that you were the only one who could bring me back here?"
You stepped back a little at the mans words, but your footsteps made both of them look at you.
"Who might this be?" the man said.
The man looked surprised to see you, and Sans smiled widely and walked to you. He grasped your hand and introduced the man.
"frisk, this is dr. w.d. gaster. dad, this is frisk, my.. .g-girlfriend.."
"Your dad..?" you asked.
"Your girlfriend?" he said in return.
You blushed at the point and the man waved it off and heald out his hand. You shook it to be nice, even though you were so confused on what was happening.
"Remarkable..." he pressed his other hand against your face.
You felt your soul come out of your body and Dr. Gaster stared at it. He let go of your hand and face and cupped his hands beneath your soul, not touching it. You didn't dare move..
He pulled his hands after almost a minute of inspection of your bright red soul.
"It is a pleasure to meet you at last, Frisk Dreemurr." he said. "I can tell you have an amazing gift."
"T-thank you, Dr. Gaster." you reply.
He backed up the slightest bit to give you room. "You can just call me Dings, or just Gaster if you wish."
"Dings?" you said confused.
"that's our last name." Sans said. "wingdings, actually, but i always called him dings when we were working on the core." he gestured at Gaster.
"What do you mean, 'working on the core'?" you asked.
"Perhaps we should bring this to someplace that we can sit and talk" Gaster said to Sans.
Sans nodded, saying he was hungry anyways, he grabbed your hand again and lead Gaster around to the front of the house. You walked in and you and Gaster sat on the couch. Sans went into the kitchen and grabbed some snacks for the three of you. Then he set them on the table, and sat beside you.
"We have a lot to discuss.." Gaster said, folding his hands in his lap.
