~Haren~

He was working on writing a letter in the dinning room when Mary came down for breakfast.

Her eyes, which were usually so lively, seemed tired and puffy. She was also still wearing a pastel yellow nightgown instead of proper clothes, though she didn't seem to mind.

"Morning," She mumbled when she sat down.

"Morning," Haren replied," Feel ok today?"

"Yes, fine," She said, taking a small bite of her toast," Just a little tired. Nothing to worry about though."

He nodded and finished the final sentence of his letter before signing it and folding it into an envelope that he sealed with wax. After stuffing the letter into his sweatshirt pocket, he sent it with his ring and headed to his study a few doors down from his bedroom.

Elen was feeling a little under the weather and shut herself in her room on the third floor attic so he was free for the day.

Just as he was cozying down in the armchair, he heard a loud crash from the hall.

"Of course," He groaned, standing to investigate the source.

As he made his way out to the stairs, he could hear Chris talking with someone at the door.

"Please, it's urgent. Sir Kotamine must be notified right away," The person was saying.

"Chris, what's going on?" Haren called from the top of the stairs.

Chris and the black haired woman he was talking to looked over. The woman was wearing silver armor and a black cloak with the symbol of Croanades flag on the clasp.

"Sir Kotamine!" She dropped to one knee as he approached, her braid falling over her shoulder.

"What's going on?" He repeated.

"I have an urgent message from the soldiers stationed at the fort at the base of the mountains. A group of adult copper wyverns are approaching the town. They requested your assistance in stopping them." She trailed off.

"Anything else?"

"Oh...uh... no sir."

"Alright. Chris notify Grace," Haren said, pulling his coat from the rack," August, we're leaving."

At the sound of his name, August appeared at Harens side," Trouble?"

Haren nodded. Turning to the knight he said," Lead the way."

After a few hours ride past the edge of the town and the forest surrounding it, the two riders came across the battle field surrounding a broken stone tower. About 20 or so soldiers with bows and swords were fighting the large flying beasts. There were only about five wyverns, but the soldiers were loosing despite their advantage in numbers.

"I'm starting to think maybe we should have waited for Grace," He muttered. As he summoned ShadowBlight, an idea came to him and he spoke loudly so the surrounding soldiers could hear," Archers aim for the wings only. Those without shields, find one and join those who do by the archers to protect them from the wyverns. Once they're on the ground, leave them to me."

The soldiers were startled by his sudden appearance, but they quickly scrambled to do as he said.

After about a half hour they finally managed to shoot down a wyvern.

Haren killed the monster quickly by cutting its throat where the scales weren't as thick and the large body of the beast fell limp at his feet.

"One down, four to go."
