He jumped backwards to avoid being kicked again after another failed attack.

"Man this kid is tough!" He groaned, flinching at the pain in his side where she'd already kicked him.

"Ya know, at this rate, none of you'll be able to land even a scratch on me, Never mind beating me." The small girl said with a broad smile. She was enjoying this way too much.

The triplets had been scattered to opposite sides of the field. Only he and the ginger were close enough now to attack.

"Radelia, rush with me!" Silver yelled, hoping she would move as he charged.

She did, but they were out of sync and reached the girl at different times. The brown haired girl caught him by the arm and threw him over her shoulder into the unsuspecting Radelia. The two of them rolled together in the dirt.

"She's so strong! And she's holding back," Radelia whined," She's right. At this rate, we'll all fail."

"Not... if we have a plan." The two turned around to find Asashi standing behind them.

"You're saying you've got a plan?" Silver demanded.

"Yes, but it wont work unless we all work together. Aien and Aimar already know what to do."

"Tch, fine, but if we fail, I'm holding you accountable." He grumbled.

"Alright, so here's the plan..."

~30 minutes left~

"Got it?" Silver and Radelia nodded," Good. Lets get in position and on Silvers signal."

"Right."

They broke their circle and Asashi and Radelia ran to their positions. Silver was already in his.

Aien and Aimar had been distracting the girl while they talked. When the two boys noticed the other three were in their positions, they jumped back into their own. Leaving the girl surprised to find she was surrounded. She shifted her eyes to Silver, and a smile was painted on her face.

"Now!" He yelled. On his signal, all five of them charged forward at the same time.

The girls expression didn't change as they got closer, and she showed no sign of moving or dodging the coordinated attack.

"We're gonna do it!" He thought, a flutter in his chest.

Suddenly, she was gone and the five of them stood with the weapon of the person opposite them at their throat. Confused, they looked around, but the girl had seemingly vanished.

In an instant, they all found themselves on the ground, their weapons no-longer in their hands.

"And... Time!" came a call from the side of the field.

"S-so... we failed?" Radelia quivered. They all sat up and turned to face the red haired man.

The brown haired girl appeared out of no-where and bounded over to him. He knelt down with his hand on her head and whispered something Silver couldn't hear. The girl frowned, looked down at the ground, then back up at the man and whispered something back.

"I see." The man turned back to them," Well... congrats. You've failed task one, but you all pass." He smiled.

"Huh?!"

"I didn't tell you, but what I was really observing was whether or not you five could work together as a team. Regardless of the outcome of task one, if you couldn't do that, I would have sent you back to the academy." The man said," You can consider yourself dead on the battle field if you try and go it solo."
