Remember

Boruto

Neji?

Then it hit me, it was uncle Neji. The one my mother said died during the war. She would tell me about how she learned a lot from him. Even though they weren't close at first, they eventually connected. I've always wished I could have met him, but I guess I will never now.

"The byakugan is unlocked based on skill. Unlike the sharigan which is unlocked from emotions." I listened more closely to what he was saying. My eye would make sense to be the byakugan, because of my mother. But it looks different, and it's only on one eye.

"Has there been cases of byakugan, which look different. Like on only one eye?" He thought about it, but then shook his head.

"Not that I know of. You could maybe ask a user of the byakugan yourself. Your mother is one anyway, right?" My head shot up, and my eyes widened.

"What do you mean?" I asked him, trying contain my shock. My scarf was still hiding half my face and my hood was still on. There's no way he could tell.

"You face when I mentioned the seventh. You seem to not be from around here, so your face wouldn't turn like that. Also, when I mention Neji Hyuga, you were thinking about it a lot." This man sure was smart. "The rest was just on intuition, but by the looks of it I'm right."

"What are you gonna do now, turn me in?" I said, getting ready to teleport if I needed too. I thought I was being careful, but yet again I end up getting caught. This is probably a sign I should stay home more often.

"No. I know I should, but I won't. You don't seem like the criminal being described. Trust me, I could tell whose a criminal." I didn't know if I could trust him or not. For all I know, he could have called people the second he saw me.

"I need to go." I told him, grabbing the books and putting them in my bag. He just nodded and went back over to his desk. I looked at him oddly, but then ignored it and left the building.

Something about him seemed familiar. Like if I have met him before, but can't seem to remember. I shook my head and ran in the direction I came in. I teleported the rest of the way, afriad of being caught yet again.

I entered the shelter and put down my bags. I took out the books and looked at them some more. There was nothing even related to my eye. Nothing even in the byakugan book. "Damn it!" I yelled, chucking it against the wall.

I heard some noise coming from above. I took out my sword, keeping it close just in case. I opened the shelter door. I got out and looked around the area. When I saw nothing, I got ready to go back inside. However, I was stopped by a voice.

"I should've known you would go here." My eyes meet the peron behind the voice. I was frozen in place. I didn't know what to do.

"Sarada..." My voice drifted the more I looked at her.

"Did you really think that acting like a jerk would be enough for me to stop looking for you?" She said, wiping her tears away while laughing. "When I saw you at the store, I almost lost it. I thought that we would finally bring you home. But you left... I then remembered this place."

"I never showed you this place." I told her, putting my sword away. "Why are you even here, Sarada. Are a bunch of shinobi going to come out." I slowly took my swordb back out to be prepared.

"No, I'm alone." We stared at each other a bit more before she spoke again. "I want to stay with you!" She yelled, looking at the ground.

I looked at her like if she was crazy. Why would she want to stay with a rogue ninja like me. "No. Trust me, you dont want this. You have family at home."

"You do too! But yet you are here-" I cut her off.

"It's not the same, Sarada! Your dad cares about training you, and making you stronger. My old man couldn't care less. How can I get stronger in a place like that."

"Boruto... you are the strongest person I know. Why would you want to get stronger." I laughed. She really doesnt know anything...

"Do you know what the kage think of us? They think we are weak. That if a war was to happened when they are not here, it would be the end. I want to prove to all of them, that I will be even stronger. That I will protect everyone."

"Please, let me stay. I want to get stronger too. At the rate I'm going, I'll never be hokage." She walked up to me, and grabbed my hand.

"You can't just change you mind and leave. If you want to stay, you are going to have to stick with it. Are you going to be okay with being a 'rogue ninja'. With having to look behind your back all the time?" I asked her, and she paused.

"Yes, I'll leave whenever you are ready to leave. Let me just grab some stuff and I'll meet you here tonight." I looked at home, and nodded. She smiled and ran back.

I slapped myself in the head,"I'm so stupid. Why did I say yes, I can't have any distractions. What if she cames back with my dad? What if this was all a trick!"

I signed and laid on the ground. There was nothing I could do now. I already said yes to her, so I cant go back now. I guess that I will just have to believe in her. She's always been a trustworthy person, but in this situation, I can't tell if she would be.

As I was thinking, my eye started to hurt. Just then I saw flashes of Konoha, except it was different. I shook my head, and it went away. I noticed that my eye stopped hurting too. "What was that?" I said to myself, getting off of the ground.

I went back into my shelter and made dinner. It's going to be werid to have Sarada around, I've gotten so used to the idea of being alone. I took out a can of beans, but then paused. I took out another one too, she would most likely to hungry when she gets here.

I heard some noise coming from above. It was probably Sarada, which is odd, since she only left about thirty minutes ago. I quickly put the beans into a bowl for her, and tried to clean thing up a bit.

I suddenly got nervous, it wasn't like this when I first saw her. Now knowing that she is going to stay, has made me anxious. I did a once over in the mirror, checking to made sure I looked decent. After that I opened the door to go greet her.

I got out there and looked around. I then spotted her. But...

"Sarada..."
