Chapter 13

Naruto

I was sitting in my office looking over some matters of the village. Nothing much has been going on besides planning for the village meeting happening in five days.

Shikamaru had come in a while ago to give me some papers. While he was there, I told him to research a presence I noticed a while ago. It was strong but strange chakra coming from the outside of the village.

I was going to go check it out myself, but the plans for the meeting have me stuck in my place. Not to mention that I'm still worried about hearing no news from Sasuke. He left a couple of hours ago and is still not back.

"Naruto..." I looked up from my work when I heard Sakura walk in. She looked concerned, it was the same look she had when she found out Sarada had left. "This presence, it's like Kaguya's. It's very powerful and seems to be getting closer and closer."

Now that she mentioned it, it was the same chakra. I knew it looked familiar, but I couldn't tell until now. "Your right, it's practically the same thing. Damn, I wish Sasuke were here, he would be able to tell is for sure what it is."

"Do you know when he's coming back?" Sakura asked me, but I shook my head. He had told me to give him a week, but that he might need more. He had also mentioned that his chakra becomes weak after using that type of teleportation. It would take him a couple of days after he gets there to be able to come back.

"I'm not sure, but I'm going to give him a week. He will come back earlier if Sarada and Boruto aren't there. But if they are, it might not be as simple to return." She didn't respond, but instead just nodded her head and then left.

I got back to work immediately after. If I finished preparing for the meeting now, then I would have time to go out and investigate. I needed to go out fast, especially now since it involves Kaguya.

Shikamaru (surprise!)

Naruto had sent me to go investigate the powerful chakra that had recently shown up. I would usually find this a drag, but since it's about Kaguya, I'll take it more seriously.

"Dad, why did you call me out again," Shikadai said sounding annoyed as usually. He's even lazier than me, and that's really saying something. "I was busy sleeping."

"This is important, so stop being lazy and listen for a second." He rolled his eyes before standing straight. "Remember when I told you about Kaguya, well this involves that situation. However, everything we investigate today mustn't be said to anyone."

"That important huh... Fine, I'll corporate. But why do you need my help?" He asked and I wasn't too sure myself. All I know is that I wanted to hear his ideas on the matter. He's a really bright kid who can probably do the same work I do now.

"Your smart, and need people like that when investigating these things. So stop asking troublesome questions and follow me." With that, we both went to the direction of the source.

Shikadai

My dad leads me toward the outside of the village where the chakra was first being sensed. "Here huh, it is that close and you guys are just now investigating it?"

"It's not that simple, Shikadai. Everyone has been busy with other things and just decided to ignore a bit of odd chakra, but with the new information we got, we can't exactly ignore it anymore." I guess my dad is right, but it still didn't sit right with me.

Sasuke, who is in charge of these things is nowhere to be found. Ever since Sarada left too, he's been slacking off on these matters. But for him to not be here for something like this, is just confusing the shit out of me. All of this is such a drag...

"So, what do we do now," I asked my dad and he just shrugged.

"We just have to make a report on anything we find. I guess we are just trying the analyze the situation so that when Naruto gets here he can be caught up on the whole situation." Makes sense, but still boring.

"Okay, where do we start." I followed my dad's lead on where to start searching first. He was taking data samples on areas where it was sensed the most.

As he was going all of this, he was writing a report in the journal he had with him. He gave me one too, but I haven't started writing in it yet. I was just wondering around and spacing off until something caught my eye.

I walked over to where I saw something shining through. I walked over to it and picked it up and noticed it was a weird type of mental. I put it into and bag and started to look around the same area.

I walked deeper into the forest as if I sensed there was something in there. I felt stupid for not telling my father of this, but I was afraid if I didn't act fast, what I sensed would go away.

I suddenly froze in place. I saw something behind a tree. I decided to hide a bit and observe it. "So, how much longer do we wait. I say we attack the village now." I couldn't recognize the voice that was talking.

"Be patient, the signal has not been given yet. We can't just jump into things whenever we feel like it." I was now trying to think of what to do. I could just try and confront them, but I don't know how powerful they are. I could also try and return and tell my dad everything I saw, but if I move now, they might notice me.

"Your right..." The voice suddenly paused and it got silent. "I sense something!" I started to panic, they have noticed me and I still don't know what to do. Right now my best option was to just run back, but before I could, two odd figures were in front of me.

"Well well well, what do we have here. You heard a bit too much so we will make you disappear." The taller one said to me before I felt my head starting to spin. Before I knew it my whole body was being sucked into something. I felt nauseous since it felt as if I was in a blender.

As all of this was going on, I felt myself slowly start to pass out. I couldn't tell yet if I was dying, but it sure felt like it. But before I could pass out, my body hit the ground. I ached in pain before seeing that I was in front of the village. I thought that they would have killed me, but instead, they teleported me back?

I barely managed to get up and walk toward the entrance o.f the village. "Shikamaru, what happened to you?" I felt confused as I heard those words being said to me, but when I looked over at the guards, they looked different. "Wait, you look a bit different... Wait, did it happen again!"

I had no idea what they were talking about so I just ignored them and walked into the village. They told me to stop but I needed to speak to the Hokage quickly and tell him what had happened, but as I was walking through the village I was getting worried stares. Not to mention that they village looked way different.

Even though I was still in pain, I ran over to the Hokage's office. As I was about to enter I ran into a figure. I looked up and saw that it was dad and I felt relieved. "I need to talk to you and the Hokage right now. I believe that Kaguya's men are trying to plan an attack on the village... Wait, dad!?"

As I looked at him more, I saw that he looked way different. He looked to be around my age which was not possible. "Shit, again huh, and with my own future son. This is such a drag." Future son?

"What is going on! Don't tell me that I'm somehow in the past right now..." I pushed passed him and opened the Hokage's door to see not Naruto, but lord fifth. "Where's Naruto!"
