Hoseok had lost count count of the amount of times Jimin had burst through his cottage door, his eyes brimming with some sort of emotion. It had become much more of a common occurrence ever since Jimin had met Yoongi.
The fairy used to come in to complain about things he simply didn't seem to get right or arguments he had with Jin (which were quite frequent) or Taehyung. (Quite rare, but they certainly had an impact on him, however small they were.)
He'd swing open the rough wooden door and run into Hoseok's arms with puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks. The witch would flinch and drop whatever potion he had in hand, the glass bottle shattering loudly against the floor. It was pointless to tell Jimin to knock (and Hoseok didn't dare to put a lock on the door, just in case of an emergency).
Or, if he was lucky, Jimin would wear be wearing a smile.
"Hobi, you won't guess what happened yesterday," he'd say. On special occasions, Jimin would even bring Hoseok some food, and the two would share it while Jimin ranted on about his little adventures. The witch listened to him while finishing up his potions.
Today, unfortunately, was not one of Hoseok's lucky days.
Jimin staggered towards his friend, sputtering cries for help.
"My god, Jimin! What happened? Are you hurt?" he asked, raddled. Jimin inhaled sharply as he shook his head and choked out sobs and words that resembled cries so much that Hoseok could barely take in a word of what he was saying.
"You've got to help me, please, help me- he's- he's hurt," Jimin pleaded, falling apart while Hoseok placed a hand on either of his shoulders to keep him standing. It would be an understatement to say Hoseok was worried out of his wits. His friend literally looked like he was crumbling to pieces in his arms.
"Deep breaths, Jimin," the witch says to the fairy, who nods and allows Hoseok to seat him down on a stool. Hoseok brushes Jimin's pink hair out of the way and says "Now, tell me what happened."
"It's about Y-Yoongi. He's sick, Hobi, very sick, he-he's dying." Jimin's voice quivers and he bites the inside of his cheeks to hold back tears. "The human doctors can't help him, so I was hoping that maybe- maybe you could..."
"Oh, my little flower," the witch whispers sadly, wrapping his arms around Jimin's small frame from behind.
Jimin then looks up at his friend with big brown eyes and whispers a weak "Please don't let him die." He's practically pleading.
And Hoseok doesn't have it in him to refuse. Not when Jimin looks more broken than ever.
"I'll do whatever I can to help, but won't he be locked up in his room? How will we get there?"
The witch has restored the tiniest amount of hope in Jimin, and it shows in the small smile he gives to his friend.
"I've got it covered."

Jimin pushes open the door to the secret passage that leads to Yoongi's chambers, Hoseok following him closely from behind with a basket full of herbs, two books, and small glass bottles filled with bubbly liquids.
It's already way past midnight, but Yoongi can't sleep, what with his aching muscles and the sharp sting of pain he gets in his torso every time he moves. Although he's wide awake when he sees Jimin and some man he's never seen before enter his room, Yoongi believes he's dreaming.
Though it becomes clear that this isn't the case once he sits up to greet his lover and the pain comes rushing back.
Jimin rushes over to the king and sits by his side. "Don't move, you'll only make the pain worse."
"What are you doing here?" Yoongi breathes out, his voice hoarse. His words are filled by coughs.
"I brought someone who can help you, Yoongi. He's a very good friend of mine, a-and I'm sure he can cure you," Jimin blabbers.
'It's hopeless, Jimin,' is what he wants to say, but he doesn't have it in him to burst Jimin's bubble, so instead, he turns his gaze towards the man standing in front of his bed.
He's wearing purple robes and loose purple pants with constellations sprinkled over them. His hair is bright orange and he's wearing no shoes. Yoongi frowns.
"My name is Hoseok," he states, setting down his basket on the large chest at the end of the bed. "Jimin's told me a great deal about you." He scans the human up and down, and admittedly, he's a tad disappointed with the sight before him. Jimin had gone as far as describing him as 'one of the prettiest people he'd ever met', yet the witch couldn't see what all the fuss was about.
He thought that if he and Yoongi were to meet some day, he would resemble some Prince Charming of the sort. The Yoongi before him didn't look like that at all. He was skinny and pale, with messy jet black hair that almost fell over his eyes.
'He's probably seen better days,' Hoseok thought.
Yoongi turns back to Jimin whispers "Do you really think he'll be able to help me?"
Jimin nods. "I'm certain of it."
The king heaves a sigh and brings a hand up to tuck a strand of hair behind Jimin's ear. "Don't bring your hopes up too much, love."
For a split second, Jimin feels like yelling. Why is it that Yoongi's already come to terms with it, while Jimin refuses to let go?
Reluctantly, he nods again and beckons Hoseok over.
Next thing he knowns, Yoongi is being fired with all sorts of questions from the man with orange hair, who was the audacity to poke him literally everywhere while he keeps asking "Does this hurt?". It makes Yoongi seriously question the stranger's abilities.
After a while, he fishes a small glass bottle filled with a disgustingly thick green liquid and purple leaves from his basket. "Take this for the liver pain," he hands Yoongi the bottle. "It's not exactly tasty, so you better chug the whole thing down at once. And chew on these for the muscle pain."
The king does as told and scrunches up his face at the potion's bitter taste and sticks out his tongue, which has Jimin giggling. Jimin leans in to press a quick kiss to Yoongi's cheek, however, he doesn't actually get to do so, as Yoongi's suddenly knocked out cold and collapses against him.
"What did you give him?" Jimin hisses at Hoseok, taking his lover's face into his hands.
The witch purses his lips into a thin line. "Flower, I know this is tough to hear, but this is... a very delicate situation. I can't treat him properly here. We need to sneak him into my cottage if you want me to help him out."
"T-that means-"
"You need to tell him the truth."
