Love, we need to leave," Ron called from the hallway, a hint of amusement in his voice from the way you were nervously running around the living room looking for your left earring.
"I- I know, I just need to find th-"
Ron grabbed your hand suddenly, making you look up at him. "Look at me-just breathe, okay? They'll love you." He smiled softly at you, and carefully took the right earring out and put it in his pocket, "there, now you don't need the other one."
Before you had any more time to worry, he had apparated you out of the flat and into his front lawn. As you looked up at his house, you couldn't help the smile creeping up on your face. It must have had more than ten floors, all of them slightly crooked, and you couldn't help but suspect that the only thing holding them up was magic. Still, it had something about it that you couldn't quite explain, it almost radiated warmth.
Ron squeezed your hand twice and started pulling you towards the house. Once you reached the front steps, he turned towards you and gave you a reassuring smile, before knocking on the door. You heard a shout from inside, "Mum, Ron's here!"
The woman you assumed to be Mrs. Weasley opened the door, grinned, and threw her arms around you. You had never really understood why Ron complained about his mum's hugs, until now. It truly knocked the air out of you. "You're beautiful, I can't understand why Ron hasn't brought you home earlier." she gave her son a scolding look before turning back to you and looking you up and down once more. She huffed before moving out of the way, "honestly, Ronald." Behind her stood redheaded girl, or at least you think she was, you didn't really get a good look at her before she too, threw her arms around you. She was definitely Mrs. Weasley's daughter though, you could tell from the way she hugged. You could see Harry from behind her shoulder, and he smiled apologetically at you, knowing what Ginny's hugs were like.
When she finally let you go and stepped aside, the rest of the Weasleys stood behind her, smiling at you. Ron gave you a gentle nudge, urging you to step inside. You had met some of his brothers before, some of them even several times. You and Ron had actually met at the joke shop when you had stopped by to pick up a gift for your nephew.
And so of course, Fred and George had to make a scene;
They pulled you into a hug, dramatically of course, and said something about not visiting them often enough. They even took it as far as fake sobbing into your shoulder. You couldn't help but laugh at their antics, and neither could the rest of the family. When you stepped back you could see that Ron didn't look quite happy.
You squeezed his hand as the rest of the family ushered you into the kitchen.
It was a few hours after dinner, and you sat next to Ron in the living room, chatting with the rest of his family. He had his hand placed on your thigh, tracing small circles on it with his thumb. One of his brothers commented on it, and you could see the familiar red creeping up on his ears.
"Stop it, Bill, can't you see that they're in love," Fred sang from across the table. Now it was your turn to blush.
You and Ron hadn't exactly said that you loved each other yet. You had thought about it many times, of course you had, but it just hadn't come up.
Charlie cleared his throat before speaking, "What do you do y/n?"
You smiled gratefully at him before answering, silently thanking him for breaking the tension. "I work at a small shop in Diagon Alley."
He nodded and continued to ask you questions about your life, and it wasn't long before the rest of the family joined in. Soon, you didn't even have to say much. The family talked about their jobs, their interest. Harry bragged about Ginny's last quidditch game for more than ten minutes, which led to you finding out that here ears also turned red when embarrassed, just like Ron's.
When Charlie started speaking about his workplace, you instantly perked up, you loved magical creatures. It seemed like you and Charlie had that in common, and soon you were engrossed in your own little conversation. The others continued talking about other things as the two of you discussed the different types of dragons he worked with.
You were so wrapped up in the conversation that you didn't even notice that Ron had removed his hand from your thigh, instead choosing to pick apart a napkin. He had a looking at Charlie quite angrily, almost glaring, but Charlie didn't seem to notice. You, however, did.
You turned away from the older Weasley slightly, finishing the conversation. Placing a hand on Ron's arm, bringing his attention to you.
"Are you alright, love?" you questioned quietly, leaning closer to him.
He sighed, as if he'd been holding his breath for quite a while, and looked up at you. As soon as his eyes met yours, you could see the tension seep from his body. "Yeah, it's nothing."
You narrowed your eyes at him, "you can tell me, you know."
Sighing again, he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, "I know, I know. It's just kind of embarrassing."
"I promise I won't laugh at you."
"I'm jealous," he blurted out, slowly turning red again.
"Of Charlie?"
"Yeah." He avoided your eyes shamefully.
You used your finger to lift his chin up, making him look at you, "You, Ron Weasley, are the most amazing man I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. You should never have to be jealous or insecure when it comes to me. I'll be there for you as long as you'll have me."
He pressed his lips to your softly, smiling into the kiss. Before he had the chance to say it back, Ginny spoke up;
"Why can't we be that cute, Harry?"
