I Won't Give Up ~ Michael Clifford

It's been a month since we've been back on tour, two weeks since we got Sammy flown out to come join us and a week since Derek had hired a personal counsellor for her and any one of us who needs to lay off some stress. We're currently in L.A and we have rehearsals this afternoon for tomorrow's show then we're off to Mexico.

After breakfast, I'm going to take Bree and Declan to a pet store to get a puppy to join our tiny family, for both Declan and Bree's late/early birthday present.

"So, I was thinking we could go walk around after breakfast before I have to go rehearse?" I suggest, drying my hair with a towel due to me just getting out of the shower.

"That sounds nice, it's really nice out today too so I'm down." She smiles, "The three of us or just you and I?"

"The three of us." I confirm with a smile and she nods before disappearing into the washroom for her shower.

I throw on my red and black flannel and fix my hair before throwing on a snapback. I see Declan's finally starting to wake up, I take that time to get an outfit ready for him; I decide on a white t-shirt, some black jeans, a blue and white flannel, his black supras, and a black snapback that I got for him.

"Hey bud." I say, helping him sit up and rubbing his back.

"Hi" Declan yawns, rubbing his eyes and he crawls into my lap, leaning his head on my shoulder.

I get up, with Declan in my arms, going over to the phone and call room service.

"Hey man, would I be able to get waffles, pancakes and french toast with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, hashbrowns with a side of three fruit bowls, two strawberry banana smoothies, orange juice and coffee." I say and they said they'll bring it up.

"Alright, thank you." I hang up and since I was on the phone, I hadn't noticed Declan fell back asleep.

He's a light sleeper so I keep him in my arms so he doesn't get cranky because he does that when he's really tired. Poor guy, he must be jetlagged from all the travelling we've been doing.

Half an hour later, there was a knock at our door and I get up with Declan still in my arms and I open the door wide for the room service lady to bring in the cart filled of food

"Thank you, I'll just put it on my bill before I check out." She smiles with a nod and leaves.

"Babe, breakfast is here!" I knock on the bathroom door and Bree emerges with a towel in her hair, drying it and she smiles.

"Here, let me take him so he could wake up." I pass Declan over to her and she places him on her hip, lightly shaking him. "Dec, hey buddy.. Time to wake up." 

Declan opens his eyes and he lightly growls, "I'm tired."

"So I guess you don't want any fruit or smoothies then?" I bug him and suddenly he's wide awake, Bree and I laugh as we all sit down and start eating.

"Oh look! A pet shop! We should go look" I say with excitement, Bree smiles and agrees.

"Wanna go look at the animals Dec?" She asks Declan and he nods with a wide smile. 

We walk in and we see all sorts of pet like animals ranging from cat, dogs, fish, birds, hamsters, Guinea pigs and so on. Bree lets go of Declan's hand as he goes running to look at the different types of fish while Bree gets lost in her own little world of the snakes and spiders, as for me, I go straight for the pups.

They're in a circled opened cage with no top, when they notice my presence, their tails start wagging like crazy and they stand against the cage on their back legs. I smile as I step over and sit down in the middle of all the cute fur balls, I start petting them all and I notice one of them is in the corner with wide eyes.

"Hey buddy" I mutter, leaning over to pet him and he shies away farther from me and I frown, "Hey, I won't hurt you." I hold my hand out and wait patiently for the dark and light browned pup to be comfortable with me. Soon enough, he or she gives in and starts smelling my scent and gave my hand a few licks before coming to jump into my lap and cuddles into my body.

Minutes passed before Bree and Declan found me and instantly Declan wanted to come into the fenced area with me, I looked at  Bree before she nods her head for permission and I kneel on my knees before lifting Declan over the fence and placing him beside me and the puppies went and gave Dec some love which makes him giggle.

"So, there was a plan that I had all planned out but uh.." I paused and made eye contact with Bree with a wide grin. "Hey, James. Can you bring the little guy up here please and thank you."

"What's going-" I held my finger up to her soft lips and just smiled and she gave me that 'What are you doing?' look, which in fact made me smile harder.

"Bree, Declan...." I took the pup into my grasp and I turned towards them. "Meet the new member of our family."

Bree and Declan's facial expressions were priceless and Declan instantly started jumping up and down with a very huge smile on his face and Bree covered her mouth with her hands with tears in her eyes. I kneeled down so Dec could hug me and the pup, who in fact was probably so confused but gave my boy some love anyways. 

"Really?" Bree squeaked and I nodded my head for confirmation and she came to join Declan, the pup and I and I really couldn't wipe the smile, ear to ear, off my face and I passed my phone to the pet store worker and asked for a picture.

"3, 2, 1, say family!" We said family and in a second, I heard a 'click' and I took my phone back and pocketed it. I stood up with our little buddy still in my hold, and we ended up signing the final paper work and the owner said he had to get his vaccinations and stuff like that done in the next 2 weeks so I suggested we just get it done back in L.A when we come back for our 3 day "vacation".

"What shall we call him?" I ask both Bree and Declan, they both look at each other and smile.

"Bear!" They both said in sync and I chuckled with a wide grin.

"Bear it is." I finish putting his harness on and I kneel back down to Bear. "Well Bear, welcome to the Rufus-Clifford family." Declan kisses his head and he politely asks to walk him.

The rest of the day went smoothly, along with rehearsals- we basically smashed it and I cannot wait for what the future holds for Bree, Declan, Bear and I. Besides the fans, the lads and my actual family- this is my forever family. I absolutely love Bree, Declan and now Bear with everything I have and I hope that one day that I could marry the love of my life someday soon; and someday make a child or two dozen of our own.
