FIRST OF ALL

YES.

I CHANGED THE COVER. I hope you guys like it. For those of you who are wondering what it used to look like, I've put it in the media section above. Should I change it back? I don't know. I'm indecisive.

Now, onto the story..

.......

"You what?!" Vivian exclaimed.

"We kissed," I sighed, pulling my knees closer to my chest.

"When!?" She said, jumping onto my bed, causing me to fall to the side.

I groaned and laid on my back, pulling a pillow to my chest, "Last Friday."

Vivian glared at me, "And it took you a week to tell me?"

I pulled the pillow to my face, "I'm sorryyy."

It was true. It had been a week since I went to Riley's house and we kissed. We hadn't talked to each other this whole week either. Whenever we passed each other in the hallways, we either looked away or down. Riley didn't come to any HASS classes the entire week either, leaving me to do all the work. The excuses were always along the lines of, 'He has detention' or 'He's at the counsellor.' I assume that they were just excuses to get away from me.

I wasn't complaining though, I wasn't ready to talk to him either. This week was all it took for me to finally understand that was I was doing was wrong. I had accepted that maybe I had caught feelings for him, and maybe I was questioning the mission because of that very reason, but in the end, he was a Riverwell, and I was a Shadow. It took me this week to realise that Riverwells weren't good, including Riley. That was enough to destroy any feelings I had towards him, forever.

"Aaliyah," Vivian said in a softer tone, "He's a Riverwell."

I pulled myself up with a groan and crossed my legs, "I know."

"Do you like him?" Vivian asked gently.

"I think I did," I admitted, sheepishly, "But not anymore."

"Good," Vivian smiled, "Only a little while longer, and we can get out of this hell hole."

"Yeah," I said, "Can't wait."

"Same here," Vivian said, brushing off the lack of enthusiasm in my answer.

We both lay on my bed in comfortable silence, our eyes set on the white ceiling.

"Shoot," Vivian said, getting up suddenly, "What's the day today?"

"Saturday," I replied.

"Fudge," Vivian said. She wasn't into the whole swearing business, "Fraser called me, he wants us at headquarters tomorrow."

"What for?" I said, anxiously. Fraser and I hadn't talked since our 'date' either. Ugh, since when was my life full of boy drama.

"Dunno," Vivian said, pulling her shiny, black hair into a bun, "Spy business, I'm assuming."

"What time?" I asked.

"8 am," Vivian sighed, "We better get to sleep if we want to wake up on time, then."

"Yeah," I said as Vivian began walking towards my door, "Good night."

"Night, Li," Vivian smiled, closing the door behind her.

...

"Stupid blazer," I said, trying to pull it off my hanger.

It was 7:30, and I was meant to be at the headquarters at 8, meaning I would be late.
