Carlo turned to Vanessa, "This is our newest recruit, Raven."

Vanessa grinned at me, "I know who she is."

Carlo cocked his head to the side, as though wanting to ask what the fuck was going on, and to be honest, so did I. Eventually, Carlo uncertainly nodded, "Well then... shall we get back to the reason for this meeting?"

Vanessa, or whoever she was, nodded, turning her gaze back to Carlo.

"Right," Carlo cleared his throat, "As you all know, we're under war conditions currently. We need to plan our attack and defeat our enemies. Hence, I've brought together my best Agents, and you, Raven, because this is the perfect opportunity for you to learn to display leadership skills."

"Now, I will be dividing you all into groups of two, and you will be responsible for leading one area of preparation that we will be organising," He continued, "Brent and Josh, you both will be working together to train our new, and old soldiers for war. Zayn and Vanessa, you will be working together to organise the weapons, plan what we should take, and then advise Brent and Josh on what to teach the soldiers. Finally, Raven and Aidan, you both will be working on finding out what weaknesses the Shadows have. Figure out what they don't have so that we can take advantage of that. I'm giving you all one month to get these things prepared, and we'll meet again then. We'll take care of your schooling situation, you won't be required to attend during the time of this operation."

"Is that clear?"

"Yes, sir," We all said simultaneously.

"Good," Carlo smiled, "One month."

We nodded. The Vanteria bid their goodbyes, wishing us good luck, and retreated up the staircase, to wherever that led.

"Let's get to work, then?" Brent asked Josh, who nodded, and they walked towards the elevator, leaving the remaining four of us.

I moved towards Aidan, deciding that it was best to start work now, and all four of us moved to the elevator. Within seconds, we were back in the lobby.

"Hey," Aidan said as soon as Vanessa and Zayn walked away, "Look, I'm going to go do some things today, and tomorrow we can meet up, okay? I would take you, but you're new, so I don't know whether these people will be inclined to help. Come over tomorrow."

"Okay, sure," I nodded, "Let me know if you need anything."

"Will do, bye."

I walked out of the lobby and into my car. I guess I had the day to myself now, but there wasn't anything else to do. I texted Fraser and told him that I was part of the operation now, but that there wasn't much for me to do currently. I told him that I'd let him know when the time came.

I pretty much didn't do anything for the rest of the day. Zayn wasn't free, Aidan didn't want me to be around him, Josh and Brent were working, and Vivian wasn't in the house. All that I could do was sit and home and wait for something to happen. In the end, I fell asleep, after having texted everyone, asking what was happening.

No one responded.

...

I woke up early. No one was home. Deciding that Vivian probably wasn't going to be at home anytime soon, which she hadn't been over the last few days, possibly due to the case, I changed into something presentable and drove to Aidan's house. He'd texted me and told me to be there at 9 am. The drive to his house was short, and I was there in five minutes. I knocked on the expensive door, and he opened within seconds.

My eyes widened at the sight of his glistening bare torso, the only articles of clothing covering him were his black shorts and Nike running shoes.
