After PE, Fraser had called me back to the headquarters for some important meeting. I went to the front office and used the normal excuse that any girl uses when she can't be bothered with school.
"I'm on my period," I said, clutching my abdomen tightly, "My cramps are killing me."
"Oh dear," The nurse said sympathetically, patting me on the back, "You should head home then. Rest up."
I pulled my bag over my shoulder and walked out of the office, smirking to myself evilly.
I had to drive here today since Vivian was at the headquarters for most of the day. I parked my car a little away from the school in case someone questions who in their right mind decided to park Tesla in this area. I walked to the car and drove away from the school.
Within a few minutes, I was in the headquarters parking lot. I walked in, had all my security checks and went up to the meeting room. Pretty much all the people that would attend this sort of meeting were already seated in their crisp suits and leather seats around the long table. As soon as I walked in, people looked at me like I didn't belong here. I heard a few people whispering 'who the hell is this' and 'she must be lost'.
Couldn't blame them.
My appearance was completely disheveled.
"Aaliyah," Fraser greeted, "Take a seat."
I went and sat in my designated seat, which was next to the head seat, smirking at the people that were judging me earlier. The seating arrangements were according to importance. Generally, Benedict Shadow would sit at the head seat, but since he wasn't here today, Fraser would be taking his spot. After the head seat, the two seats beside the head seat were of second importance, the two after that of third, so on and so forth.
After we all settled down, Fraser pulled out his laptop and connected it to the projector behind him.
"Sorry for the abrupt notice," Fraser said, "But this is important."
A few people nodded in understanding, I scowled.
"As you all know," Fraser said, ignoring me, "The Riverwells and Shadows have recently had... a dispute."
"Wait, what?" I said abruptly, making people look at me like I was crazy.
"Yes," Fraser nodded, "Did you not know?"
"No!" I exclaimed, "What happened?"
"I was getting to that, "Fraser sighed, "Anyways. We severely lost. We lost twenty of our soldiers, and they lost zero."
"What the fu-"
"But," Fraser interuppted, glaring at me, "We are taking necessary actions, which will ensure that we will have the upperhand very soon."
"Like what?" I said, brushing his threatening glance away, "We just lost twenty freaking soldiers!"
I wanted to let out an amazingly put together string of curses, but I knew that these people were probably the kind to shower in holy water after hearing the word 'damn'.
"I understand your anger, Agent Sharpe," Fraser said calmly, "But we will be partnering with multiple other small organisations to strengthen our army, we have no other choice."
I wanted to argue, but I knew it was true. The Shadows and the Riverwells were the only two strong powers in all of the gangs that exsisted. To become any stronger, we would have to bribe smaller gangs to work for us and do our bidding. The Riverwells had obviously started doing this far before we'd even thought about it.
