I aced it.

My Exams where a complete success and so will the rest of my day be. I liked it. My life in simpler terms. I no longer sat at lunch with Bee and Nani. I sat with Jasper and he would teach me more about ASL. I rehearsed everyday at home only the weekends would be spent at the Dance Studio. Which meant I saw the girls half as much. Even Lucas grew distant. Every now and than I caught him glancing in my direction, he has his efforts to speak and even though it had only been a week since we last talked, it felt like forever. Yet, it wasn't. I didn't plan on cutting the girls out of my life, I just wanted... space.

It was the day of the festival and I didn't forget the agreement I had with Nani and this stupid date with Lucas. She wanted alone time with her boyfriend and for some reason I was the one who was suppose to grant it. We had a few minutes to spare before our group performance that would be the introduction to the festival. I had already changed into my costume and a full set of makeup. My hair was curled and and pulled out of my face I wore a light purple leotard and covered my bottom with some sweat pants. I had dance a hundred times, but today felt different.

Jasper? I wasn't even sure if he was even coming, but the idea of him being here did cause a new feeling of nerves to arrive.

What would he think about me being on a "date" with Lucas?

Lucas stood there in front of the ticket booth people greeting him as they walked by. A curly headed girl even stopped along with her friends all flirtatious laughing. It made me wonder back to the night of the bonfire and what Carly had said. I was clearly missing something that everyone else had understood. I wasn't surprised at the fact that Lucas had interests in a girl, but loving seemed far fetched. In all my years of knowing him I never knew him to "love" sex was all he seem to be interested in. He seem to enjoy the single life, so how could he possibly love anyone.

I simply waited and observed as Lucas talked to the group girl. The one with the long curly hair had placed her palm on his muscular forearm Lucas mouth moved and I could make out the words. But from the girls displeased expression she was clearly facing rejection. Her smile was forced and the embarrassment in her eyes was obvious as she simply nodded and turned away with her group of friends who consulted her.

" Poor girl, she didn't realize how lucky she was not knowing you." Lucas's head turned in my direction a grin crossing his face.

" Aw KP, strangely enough your wit is refreshing." I approached him with confident steps.
