A few days passed and Jasper had been a great roommate. He had become my best friend. A better friends than the ones I'd known for years. Which a part of me feels guilt for even thinking that. I love Bee and Nani I even missed them. But sometimes when I was around them. I seemed to forget myself. Seemed to forget who I really was. In reality I knew that we all had our own issues. Nani's eating disorder, Bee's Tiger parents. And to them My Daddy issues. Which I can't lie, I have them they just don't know why. They where comfortable with wearing mask, while I was suffocating in mine." KP." My eyelash nearly drops out my hand as I jump startled.
People have to stop sinking up on me!
" Damn it Lucas." I cursed looking at my reflection in mirror that I had in my locker. Seeing my eyelash slanted on my eye. Lucas laughed. As I struggled to blink properly.
Lucas closed my locker stopping my attempt of putting on my makeup. " You don't need it." He said causally leaning the lockers with a honest expression. Before I could rebuttal the single eyelash was gone with swift yet gentle motion. He held it on his finger tip and analyzed it.
" Hey those are mink eyelashes you dumb ass!" I exclaimed. " Cost me 18 bucks at Sephora!"
" Sound like you should make a better investment." He replied with a smirk. I snatched my eyelash off his fingers seeing it was teared. I groaned in annoyance. Seeing my expression Lucas got from off the locker and towered over my looking down with apologetic eyes his large arms lightly grabbing my forearms.
" Hey.. hey look at me." He spoked. " If it's that serious I'll buy you some more. Damn it I'll buy the whole damn store. But if I'm being honest I really don't think you need them." I can't lie. My heart pounded again. He looked... sincere.
This can't happen ether.
I stepped back breaking my self from his intoxicating embrace. " What do you want Lucas?"
" You've been avoiding me." It wasn't a question it was a statement he knew why I was avoiding him
" Is it that obvious?" I replied honestly. " You can't torment a girl for years and than expect them to fall for you."
" Isn't that how it works in the movies?" He joked.
I rolled my eyes. " This isn't a movie."
" You're right. It's clearly a teen romance novel." He joked again.
" Again not funny."
" KP." He chuckled. " I get, I don't expect you to like me the way I like you. I haven't been to most kind or shown much Chivalry. I've been anything but admirable and I understand if there isn't any personal attraction yet. But I like you, and if we have to start off as friends for you to feel the same way about me. Than fine."
I smiled, Lucas was the most immature guy I knew. This was a new side of him. One I didn't mind getting to know.
" Friends?" He asked extending his hand.
What is it with that word lately?
He flashed his signature smile exposing his dimples, making it hard to resist. My manicured hand meet his, and instead of hand shake Lucas's finger tips brushed over my mine bringing them to his lips. It was all in slow motion something from a movie. How he never looked away from my eyes as he brought his lips to my skin. Lucas's charm was undeniable, but was it enough to win me over. Every eye in the hall way was on us. And the loud cheering from a few of his football team mates couldn't be missed as he made his gesture.
The loudest was of them all was Zane cheering on his best friend as if he was just did some epic proposal. And Nani was linked by his side.
Lucas placed my hand down and held it for a moment and winked. I pulled my hand away and made it obvious what I was doing. I pulled out a disinfect while from my purse whipping my hands clean." His mine never let as he watched me do it ."Very Friendly." I said sarcastically earning a chuckle from him.
" I could always be friendlier " I scoffed at his remark. To my surprise he didn't reply instead his eyes looked behind me.
The minty smell of his breath causing my body to radiant.
Jasper. He brought me chills and instant heat all at once.
" You forget your phone in car." Simple. It was something so simple that had everyone gasping.
He talked!
He talked!
He talked!
In public!
I was frozen in utter disbelief. I had never heard him speak publicly at school. Damn it no one had.
" You okay?" He asked his husky voice was powerful deep, couldn't be missed. It was seductive effortlessly. I didn't think he noticed what he had done until Lucas said. " He talks." Lucas was just as taken back as the rest us in utter shock.
The bell rang loudly and kids began to scatter. Expect us. Lucas still stood there in disbelief.
Jasper's eyes held panic as realization hit and without uttering a single word he dashed out of the school building.
And as usual, I did something I always did....
I ran after him.
