Mae’s POV

Two days after Logan told me about her liking Jesse- one of Miles’ friends- I wake up with determination. A certain determination to get those two together- Jesse and Logan.

I was also determined yesterday when I woke up, and I had a whole plan- more than one actually, in case one or two of them come to fail- of how to get the two of them together, or at least talking a bit more. That way their relationship can start to blossom.

The reason I didn’t do that yesterday was because I spent most of my day with Landon. Yes, I know this makes me sound like a really bad best friend- spending more time with my boyfriend than with my own best friend- and I know that. However, I won’t be seeing Landon today, and maybe not even tomorrow, because he said that his older sister was coming into town, and he really wants- and kind of needs- to spend time with her. Especially since he doesn’t get to see her as ofter as he used to, since she lives a bit farther away- how far, I don’t know, Landon never told me. I know that two days without seeing my boyfriend isn’t really that long at all, and it’s not really an excuse as to why I haven’t been hanging out with Logan a lot- but I plan to change that- I plan to spend as much time with her now, as I possibly can.

With all that in mind, I push back my covers, swinging my legs over the edge of my bed, walking over to my closet, keeping my head high, because I know that today is going to be an awesome day- I just know it.

After taking a well needed shower I slip into the clothes I will be wearing for the day, which are a pair of light wash skinny jeans with a muscle tank that has a picture of some vintage looking dinner and it reads ‘The Fabulous Restaurant’ on it, and I put in some quotation mark styled earrings.

I skip down the stairs in a very happy mood and into the kitchen to eat my breakfast for the morning.

About ten minutes later, I am done with my breakfast and after looking at the clock on the oven in the kitchen, which tells me that it is 10:47 AM, I decide that I should go look for Logan and start my first and easiest plan to get her and Jesse together.

I bound up the stairs, skipping each second step in hopes of getting up there faster, as if I need to get there as soon as possible- which I don’t, because it’s not like this plan can’t wait, and needs to be done this instant, I just want to get it started now.

I knock on Logan’s door, my knuckles making a soft rhythm on the wooden door, repeating the motion three times, before letting my arm fall back down by my side as I wait for Logan to open her door, because I don’t want to just walk in on her- she might not like that, I don’t know.

Logan swings open the door a minute later, her hair all tangled and quite messy. “Yes?” She asks, running one of her hands through her hair.

“Hey,” I greet her, my smile widening even more than it was before. “What are you doing?”

“Oh, um, nothing,” Logan mumbles, not moving out of the doorway for some reason. “What’s up?”

“I need you to come with me for a second,” I state, grabbing on to her wrist and tugging her in the direction I want to go in, which is about two to three feet down the hallway.

She follows me, not trying to question where I am going and why, which I am thankful for, because I probably wouldn’t answer her anyway. I mean, she’s going to find out in just a second either way.

I knock on Miles’ bedroom door, quickly, but lightly, never releasing my light hold on Logan’s wrist. Miles didn’t take as long as Logan did to open his door- not that Logan really took that long.
