The following week Ajisai and I had married. Claud made the matter official; Devrim, Esher, and a few more we had met along the way joined. Even Lord Shaxx was there! I never thought he would be such a love bug.
After the ceremony the beast of a man gave us wishbringers and a pair of better devils.
"This is truly beautiful, two of my favorite guardians starting an eternal bond that exceeds the light of the traveler!" He cheered lifting us both up
False God
"Thank you Shaxx." I grab his hand and shook it. His grip was firm and powerful, yet gently.
Ajisai hugs the walking wall as I gazed at the weapons.
You hear me, yes?
You're not real.
Yes you do, I saved ours lives more than once. You owe me
I handed Ajisai her pair of weapons. She kept that as her main handcannon.
I put the weapons into my collection, and we spent the next week moving into a larger space. I bought out a room from a neighbor gaurdian that was hardly home and knocked down the wall.
I stayed home and cleaned up while Ajisai went on patrols and strikes.
A week had passed before I did anything besides stay home, it was nice.

Cable hovered over me and bumped into me "you got a message from your girlfriend, guardian."

"You and Ajisai being friends is the only bad thing about marrying her." I rolled my eyes getting my armor on

"Not my fault you make friends with ever girl you meet, Stud."

I suited up and transmatted to my ship, the Alpha Umi.

"The message was about needing help on titan. I didn't know there were gambit matches held on titan!" Cable spoke with honest surprise

"They don't." I set my course and spin up to titan

Once arriving on the planet, I landed on the other side of the Arboretum. The Derelact hovered above  the location. The drifter and a hand full of guardians were adding a mote tank.
Esher was on a tower holding an angle at the nearest entrance to the Arboretum. Thralls and Advocates yelled from a door that had opened from the Hive corosion. A partially collapsed bridge was connecting the two platforms.
She was the gate keeper, and the Hive seemed to fear crossing it. I climbed up and kneeled next to her

"So, what was the point of calling me out of my cave?" I ask grabbing a pair of binoculars and staring at the door

"Well, you're a Titan... and you are married to a Hunter...  has she told you about the man with the golden gun?"

"Yeah, its the first story a Hunter learns." I glance at her then back at the Hive. They were staring at me now.

"Well he killed a man that carried a Weapon of sorrow," she spoke with fear or interest, I still can't tell.

"What the hell is a weapon of sorrow?"
I leaned in to her

You have one

"Well, a weapon that has been touched by the Hive Magic. Well, a human weapon that has combined with the two" she hesitated to explain it "It can snuff out a gaurdians light without killing their ghost"

I glanced back at the Hive in the doorway. They were silent. The thrall still twitched but silent. The advocates had retreated to the darkness.

"Doesn't the Vanguard want that off the records?" I lower the binoculars and stood up.

"I'm a warlock, Sage. I learn what I want and find what I need" She said cheerfully

"That's not a good thing huh?" I sigh and start to clean my rifle "You haven't answered my question"

"Well, the man with the Weapon of Sorrow, before the red war, had a following... a cult of gaurdians that allowed their minds and weapons become altered by Hive magic.." she removed her helmet and tilted her head downward, avoiding eye contact.

"Right. Right. The Shadows of core or something like that right? Claud did mentioned them a meditation or two ago." I lean in, I hadn't realized it till then but her eyes glowed a bright emerald.

"Yor. Shadows. Of. Yor." She hissed the words and seemed afraid of it.

There was a growl of hive in the distance. A knight had made his way to the front of the pack. The thrall began to throw themselves off the edge on to what remained of the bridge. They were clawing at it.
The knight walked to the last full support beam and swung his sword into it, shaking the whole bridge. He glanced towards us and swung it again bring the bridge down completely.

"What the hell..." I raise the binoculars to see the thrall and knight staring at us, at me, as they fell.

"They seem to know that name. Yor. I mentioned it earlier and cursed thralls swarmed to the bridge, exploding in the middle of it." She glared at the now gone bridge

"Now tell me Esher.... why did you call me here?" I sigh and crack my neck

"I need to know who I can trust, Sage"

"And you chose me?"

"I chose someone that owes me there life."

"Fair enough."

"Sage, I want you to stay safe. Ajisai would be a prime target. From the last time they were in the tower, they went after crucible legends and stars."

"Thanks you Esher, truly. Please stay safe and report anything you see to Shaxx or the Vanguard" I gently hold her shoulder and hug her.

I leapt down to find drifter leaning against the building we were on.

"Brother, don't go looking after the shadows now. They'll find you otherwise" he smirked and tossed over a coin

I caught the coin and sent it back to him "Listen drifter?" I reached under my chest plate and held the original coin he had given me. I passed it back to him and immediately draped my rifle.

He pulling out his handcannon and caught the coin. "I promise you, you'll lose this fight"

"Ease drop again and I promise you, no ghost alive will be able to bring you back." I lower my rifle and crack my neck

"Hehehe, I like that anger Brother. You remind me of the shadows." he grinned placing his handcannon back into its place

I shrugged off the comment and transmatted back to my ship. "The Shadows of Yor, huh."

"My guardian killed quite a few actually." Cable finally spoke up and hovered in front of me

"You don't talk about her much."

"That's cause you're my guardian now."

"What did she do?"

"She hunted The shadows of Yor actually..."

"Tell me everything you know about the Shadows of Yor." I leaned back into my seat as projections came up.

I learned as much as I could from Cable, about The shadows, Thorn, hell even about Dredgen Yor.
With Cables help, we began to hunt then down.

Shadows only exist because of the light.

And vice versa.
