The Lone Vendetta

Death threats started gathering with my postmaster. I stopped opening them, didn't care what they said. It was clear that many people wanted me dead.

I went to talk to Claud, who was less than happy to see me.

"I found a knife on door this morning. Sage, I respect that you have a vendetta but it has come to your door and mine." He placed the knife on the table and paced back and forth.

"Yeah, I've been thinking about that." I grab the knife and examine it. A hunters blade. "I have a problem." I let the blade slip out of my hand and glance up at Claud.

"Yes you do, you started a war." He groans and finally takes a seat

"Let me, rephrase myself. I, as in me, have an issue with violence. I'm starting to realize I enjoy the rush of nearly dying. The blood and bones. I like to fight." I didn't realize it but I was grinning at the time.

"Sage... What do you want me to say friend? You have always been a hot headed, guns blazing titan." He gave a weak smile and reached out to me.

"I need you to help me one last time. But it'll get me in a lot of trouble" I smirked lightly and took his arm

"What kind of trouble?" He tilted his head

"I gonna force a power play. Assert dominance over who ever dare come at my love or you. You two are all I have left." I froze and stood up "Esher was shadow and anyone else I've met has died. I need you to draw as much attention to me as possible"

He stood up slowly "Friend, if you survive, not all of you will come back"

"I'm not who I was a month ago. I killed fellow guardians without hesitation. Thrall quiver before me. Who ever I am after, I hope he can still spare with Ajisai and meditate with you" I gave a soft smile and released my grip "I'll send you my location, broadcast it 3 day from now." I turned away from the Exo and made my way to the exit.

He grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back, placing his bond in my hand. "I expect this, brother." He smiled weakly

"You will get it back, one way or another."

"Sage, you are a man of war. You may not like it, you may hate it. But it may be what is needed. A man willing to stop evil by using it"

I paused "Maybe..."

"Now, do what you have to and come back as soon as you can." He gave a soft smile. There was hope in that, I like to think of it.

I gave him a nod and pointed to the knife on the table. "I'm gonna be needing that."

He tilted his head and handed me the blade. I grabbed it and placed it in my leg plate.

I gave him one last hug and turned away from the exo.

Spoiler alert, I do see him again.

I went back to my room and waited for Ajisai.

She ran in later on into the evening and places her guns on the table

"You're leaving aren't you?" She asked staring at the revolver we got at our wedding.

"Do you want the answer or should we just enjoy the time we have together? "

"Yes..." she spoke softly

The room grew quiet.

"Well, tomorrow morning I'm heading out." My eyes fell from her as I stared downward

She sat on my lap and pulled my attention to her eyes. "Eyes up Guardian." She smiled softly as her hands ran through my hair.

I kissed her gently and slowly wrapped my hands around her. "I love you."
