It has been a week since I have been woken up. I've been spending most of my time hiding out in large semi-collapsed building.
I managed to scavenge a sharpened knife.
The ghost told me of the traveler and the abilities that I could learn to control.
I was a Titan, the "shield that protects the city. " as my ghost said
She also told me of her past. I'm her second guardian. During the red war she lost her original guardian.
During the red war a Cabal general managed to capture the Travler and control the light.
That guardian saved the day and managed to awaken the traveler.
Through out the next few weeks I found my way through the wilderness hiding and watching.
The Cabal, specifically the red legion, are very military ruled life style.
I spent my nights moving through the forest and my days resting and hiding.
That was until a Psion spotted me through dense snowfall. Psions are angry mind reader that were former slaves to the Cabal. Annoying bastards that screech and attack on sight.
I charged into and rammed the knife into its singular eye.
I grabbed its rifle and shot at the other two. A Cabal charged me and sent me flying into a tree.
I scrabbled up with the rifle and bolted. I ran as fast as I could as arc, void, and solar round bombarded me.
They set the forest a blaze looking for me. I buried myself in the snow watching the aliens lumber around and search for me.
Hours passed as the ash and snow slowly covered me, the sun had set and moon lit up the sky.
The snow and ash rained down as I stood up, shrouding me. I moved slowly with the wind.
I was surround and I had left my knife in the Psions skull. Any gun shot would lead to a firefight against an entire army.
I was afraid and lost, that was until I heard a voice, not my ghost or a human. Something had called out to me.
A child almost; you are a guardian, a defender of the light. More so, a Titan. You do not need guns or even blades to defend yourself. All you need is your fist and your light.
With that, I felt a bolt of lightning flow through me. I leapt into the air and came crashing down. The Cabal around me were disintegrated or thrown away.
I ran forward charging into a crowd of Psions and then leaping over them to destroy a Integrator.
I charged forward destroying more vehicles and enemies.
As I destroyed the army the child like voice spoke to me again: Bullets run dry, knifes full, but your fist is only weapon you need to fight any battle.
By Daybreak I was trading blows with a Cabal general.
His ammo had depleted and all that was left was his sword.
He would send me across the room and in return I would send him through a wall.
I tackled him to the ground and began to tear off his armor eventually crushing his helmet while still on his head.
I let out a roar of victory as I collapsed
"Ghost? You there?" I coughed with a smile
"That was gross" she replied as she began to heal me
"You say that but I recall you saying something about tearing off a leg earlier" I laughed getting up as she disappeared
"Shush up and take me to a console, I'll get us in contact with the city."
"Got it." I climbed over debris from the skirmish and got her to a still functioning communications relay.
She spoke to a City Gaurdian and seemed joyful. I sat in a corpse of a Cabal and grabbed his rifle. I cocked it and shot it a few times at the wall opposite of my ghost. I placed it on my back and stood up as my ghost came back to me
"A Fireteam will be by noon to pick us up." She chanted cheerfully disappearing again
"Great. I'll wait in and clearing I made." I laughed lightly heading to a crater I had left after casting my Fist of Havoc.
The guardians that picked me up that day gave the battle a name:
The Dawn of Snow, Ash, and Dust
