The Last Chapter

I used my rifle as a shield, splitting it in half. I lifted away and glanced at the Titan. He wore Crucible armor but in a dark shader, blending him into the environment.

He tossed down a heavy ammo brick and cut a line into the ground.

He is challenging you.

I tossed my weapons aside and grabbed my sword again. I reached for the ammo brick and immediately back away. He simply paced around the line he had draw.

I took a deep breath and put on my Stronghold again. He let out a chuckle as he pulled up his sword, ready to strike. I drew a line and did the same.

We took small steps towards each other, watching each others movements. Who would swing first?

We began to circle each other, pacing side to side. The other Guardians simply watched.

The air grew stal. The hum of the stream filled my ears. He jolted forward with speed faster than any Titan I had ever seen. I fell backwards, the tip of the blade scratching deep into my helmet.

He laughed as he offer his hand up. I reluctant reached for it as he helped me up. Though, he did headbutt me, damaging my helmet even more.

I stumble back and found my balance. He chuckled, drawing a new line in the ground. I let out a weak groan and did the same.

The same dance began. Back and forth we went, watching for the smallest of twitch's. He tried the same trick but I blocked the blade. We locked blades. I smirked lightly but he pushed forward, grabbing my chest and headbutting my again.

Again I fell back, again he offered help. I stood up on my own and ripped off my helmet, tossing it aside. He began to laugh, so did the others

get angry!

I gripped my sword tightly and drew a line into ground.

I am.

He let out a hearty laugh and drew a line. He raised his sword and we began to dance again.

I jolted forward as soon as we switch positions. He did as well and we locked blades again. He grabbed my chest, and rammed his head forward.
I charged my light into my head, headbutting him. His helmet caved into his skull. His grip was still firm on me, I cut off his hand. I wiped the blood from my head and spat on to the Titan.

My breathe began to grow louder, my arms grew heavier.

"He probably hadn't read that one... Saint-14 did that to a Kell, during his crusade..." I panted as the sword ran out of energy, "I'm guessing the rest of you are waiting for something similar?"

They nodded slowly. The hunter from the other night stepped forward. He gritted his teeth and glared at me.

"Quickest draw wins. my golden gun versus your corrup-" I threw the Titans hand at him.

"Your golden gun versus my Lone Vendetta." I gritted my teeth

"I'm going to enjoy gutting you!" He growled as we stepped away from each other. "I might just visit that gi-"

45, what an idiot

I shot him twice with The Lone Vendetta. The second going through the hunter and landing in a Guardian that was waiting.

I took a deep breath, my gun still smoking. "Anyone else want to say something about her?" My glare scanning between the remaining 4.

They all shook their heads as a female Warlock stepped forward and placed her Thorn at my feet. She pulled out a sniper rifle and removed the magazine.

"One round, you versus me" she offered me a round

I took the round and pulled out my sniper. I placed it in as she blinked deeper into the forest.

I put on a spare Prodigal helmet and waited for a flare to go up.

I marched forward, holding the rifle up and scanning the area.

I stopped once in a wide clearing and looked back and forth.
I took a deep breath and sat down. I closed my eyes and listen to the forest. She had to be here.

I took deep breaths, finding my calm. The wind flew through the trees and brush. The stream flowed down to where the portal was. There was a storm in the distance, the light and dark chancing each other.

Focus

There was the slightest movement in the tree brush. I raised my head and immediately rolled out of the way. The bullets peirced my arm. I raised my rifle and aimed towards the brush.

Breathe

I found her head and pulled the trigger. Down she came, falling from her perch.

I stumbled back to the where the firefighte had been held.

The remaining three stood up and cocked their weapons. I was out of ammo.

I held my hands up and glanced between the last three. One of each class. There was a distance shine in their visors. My eyes widened as I ducked down. Solar energy flew over me, erasing the three Guardians.

"Calling it close aren't you?" I stood up and glared at the Gunslinger

"I'm here aren't I?" He growled standing by my side.

"Well that's most of all of them." I gulped and let out a sigh of relief

"You scared off the rest of them." He chuckled and began gathered the Thorns from the bodies

He created a mountain of weapons and charged his Golden on last time.
I looked down at The Lone Vendetta.

Kill him, we can be so much more! You need me, I am your power.

You need me, I'm your power.

I tossed the damned pistol into the piles. It screamed at me as Vale lit the weapons ablaze.

There was a hiss that came from the pile. Burnt metal and Hive meat. And then a silence. A silence I hadn't heard for a while.

"I'll clear your name with the Vanguard, you'll be able to go back to your normal life." He patted my back and turned away

"Not yet, I'm going live my life a little before coming back. Explore this solar system, maybe go up to the Leviathan and dine with Calus." I reached for him and let out a soft chuckle. "I could use a new name for the time being. And Ill owe you one."

"You know what, I do need one thing from you." He reached behind himself and pulled out a transmitter. "When this lights up, I need you to go to that location and pick up a box. Don't open it just move it to somewhere on the know solar system." He handed me the small box

"Vague, but I should I expect from the notorious Shin Malphur." I chuckled and placed it between my chest plate.

"Oh and take this" he pulled out his Thorn and handed it to me "it was purified with orbs of light. If you sit have a Thorn, do the same"

"Good I gave one to my Wife" I chuckled examining the weapon

"I'm sorry you're married?"

"I'm married to a Hunter. I think I'm going to explore the system with her. Use all my glimmer to get a freight ship and set out." I chuckled removing my helmet and tossing it aside. I placed several thorns into it and rolled it into the dirt. "And now they'll think I'm dead"

"You are smart for a Titan..." He chuckled lightly before transmitting away.

I did the same. Not the last chapter on my life, but the start of a new one.
