Cage

When Mac finally returned to her side, Cage instantly knew that something was wrong. It was written all over his rigid posture and wringing hands.

"How did it go with your sister?" She asked softly.

Mac's face hardened, and he turned away from her, making his way down the hall. "I don't have a sister."

"You can't be serious." Cage trailed after him.

"I am."

Sighing in exasperation, she skirted around his side, blocking his path. "What do you mean she's not your sister."

Mac glared at her. "She worked with Murdoc and murdered innocent people. I want nothing to do with her."

His voice was harsh, but she could detect the slightest bit of something else too. He seemed to be battling between anger and uncertainty.

"I'm not in anyway condoning what she did, but she's still your flesh and blood. Don't resent her completely because of the past. She did plenty of horrible things, but I believe everyone has potential to change. I know giving her any sort of chance sounds insane, but I just...I just don't want to see you lose whatever family you have left. I mean if you think about it, her only motive was ever to find you."

Mac's face softened, and she knew she'd struck a chord. "That's what gets me Sam."

Her heart broke for him. He only called her Sam when he was truly hurting.

"She killed innocent people, worked with the devil himself, for me. People are dead in my name."

"Angus MacGyver, you cannot seriously blame yourself for their actions." She told him sternly, "Innocent people died because Murdoc took an innocent girl who was driven by anger and grief, and turned her into a killing machine. She played along with the part. It was them, not you."

"You...you know nothing..." He said quietly.

"I know you're putting false blame on yourself."

He brushed her off and dodged her blockade. "I don't want to talk about it."

"Mac..." She started.

"Not now Cage."

She watched him disappear around the corner.

Making sure no one was watching, Cage crept back down the hall, and slipped into the room where they were holding Spider.

Sofia

Sofia looked up when she heard a door opening, but her face fell at the realization of who it was. The woman who had pulled her gun on her during their 'altercation' took the seat across from her.

"Hello again Spider. I'm sure you recognize me." She held a thick australian accent.

Sofia gave no answer.

"My name is Samantha Cage."

Silence.

"And you are...?"

Sofia scowled. "You already know."

The blond woman, Samntha, smiled at her.

Strange.

Why was she being so kind?

"No, I mean your given name."

Sofia still remained silent for a few moments before deciding that since the cat was already out of the bag, she was sure, there was no harm in it anymore. "Sofia."
