(MacGyver POV)
"But I'm going to need the Firebird too."
There was a fire burning in in his sister's eyes now.
MacGyver nodded "I'm sure we can do that. But understand if you try to make run for it, we will find you."
"Don't worry MacGyver." Sofia told him "I'd never run at a chance to put a bullet through their heads."
He nodded in satisfaction at her answer.
Riley stood to leave "I'll let Matty know." She told them, walking out of the room.
When the door closed behind her, Sofia stood from her chair and turned away from him, walking to the wall and placing her forehead against it.
MacGyver stayed seated where he was. "That's why you cut ties with Murdoc isn't it? Not because he wasn't useful. One of your friends died because of him."
Sofia nodded against the wall "He may have been like a father to me, and although Dallas's death wasn't at his hand, after that...I just couldn't stay there anymore. He sent the Firebird on a job the next day, and we never came back. It didn't feel right to stay with the person who orchestrated his death."
"How did he die?" MacGyver asked her.
"A bullet to the chest. A bullet that was meant for me." Her voice was shaking now. "I told him. I told him to put the vest on, but he insisted I wear it. That my safety was more important than his because the Firebird needed a leader."
As much as he hated her, MacGyver's heart went out to the girl.
She didn't just blame the Ophidea and Murdoc for her friend's death. She blamed herself too.
She turned back towards MacGyver, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "He....understood me. Better than anyone."
MacGyver watched as she took a deep breath regaining her composure. "I know you hate me Angus. But I need you to promise me that if something happens to me when we find them. You'll put those four wretched women in the hell they deserve."
MacGyver only nodded, unsure of how to respond.
"Thank you." She breathed.
MacGyver stood from his seat and made his way to the door. He opened it, paused, then looked back at her. "Well are you coming or not?" He asked.
(Sofia POV)
Sofia slowly took a step towards the door, Dallas's debt would not go unpaid.
With each step she took, her confidence grew. When she finally reached the door, she stopped and looked up at MacGyver "Despite whatever that was, you know I still think you're an ungrateful bastard right?"
MacGyver gave her a half smile "Good, because I couldn't like you even if I tried." He replied.
Sofia brushed past him and out into the hall "I'm glad we're in agreement."
She didn't have to look behind her to know that her brother was rolling his eyes. She followed him down a few winding hallways before they came to a stop outside a large black door.
"Aren't you going to open it?" Sofia pried.
"Why are you so impatient?" MacGyver asked.
"Why are you so annoying?" She retorted.
MacGyver shook his head, pushing open the door and motioned for her to go in.
The War room was huge with screen panels all around. Five other people stood in the room staring at her intently. Up on the screen were pictures of the Head Bitches in Charge of the Ophidia.
