Part 12- Deal or No Deal?

(Sofia POV)

Sofia leaned against the door of one of the holding rooms, the rest of the Firebird watching her intently waiting for her to speak. 

Finally she took a breath. "Alright, listen up because I'm only saying this once. We've been offered a deal." 

 "What kind of a deal?" Maia asked cautiously. 

 "A deal that lets us walk out of here free from shackles." She responded. 

Adria tilted her head "I'm listening."

"It seems that the Phoenix ran into some trouble with a certain group of organized crime." Sofia continued "We help them put an end to this group and we get out of jail free." 

 Cress shook her head "I'm confused, why should we help them? I know one of them is your brother and all, but they locked us up, threw us in here. I don't see what reason we have to take this deal. And besides what makes you think they'll keep their word?" 

 "She's got a point." Marcus added "We don't know these people's intentions." 

 Sofia narrowed her eyes "Regardless of what their intentions are, ridding the world of this particular crime group is beneficial to us too." 

 "What do you mean?" Adria asked. 

 "The group they're trying to find.....its the Ophidia." Sofia told them.

A sad, mournful silence passed through the group, and it was Alan who finally spoke "I for one agree to the deal. Dallas was our brother. He didn't deserve what they gave him." 

Maia nodded in agreement "I do too. His death was not a price he should have had to pay." 

The rest of the Firebird murmured in agreement. 

Adria turned her gaze to Sofia "So then what's the plan boss?" 

 "We lure them out of whatever hole they crawled into" She answered. 

"How are we supposed to do that?" Cress asked her. 

"As far as the Ophidia know, we still work for Murdoc. We get word out that the Firebird have broken from his posse and now we're looking to put him down. They'll come running out at the chance to get their hands on him." Sofia told them.  

"I don't know about this boss." Marcus said "Not after what happened the last time we double crossed them. The Firebird are their enemy." 

Sofia stiffened at his answer "We're going in prepared this time. Murdoc had no clue what he was doing when he played double agent. These people have done it successfully time and time again. All we need to do is get them out in the open."

The Firebird looked at each other and then back at her. 

Sofia sighed in exasperation "If you won't do it for me, then at least do it for Dallas. Don't let his death be for nothing." 

 Another moment of silence passed by before Maia spoke up again "I think we're all in agreement now." She said, looking around at the others "Let's put those bitches six feet under." 

Sofia smiled a wicked smile "Perfect. I couldn't agree more." Then she stood from her spot against the door and pulled it open. 

MacGyver and Jack stood patiently outside awaiting the Firebird's answer. "You've got yourself a deal." She told them.

MacGyver and Jack waited outside the holding room door while Sofia was talking with the Firebird.
