Part 20- Fight For Our Lives

(Sofia POV)

"Come to play?"

Sofia shook her head "How did you—" 

 King let out a cold laugh and shook her head "Well at least you're not denying it. But come on Spider, you don't think we'd actually believe you'd want to work with us. Not after we killed your friend. I figured it was a revenge plot right from the start. But thank you for confirming it." 

Sofia's eyes darted around as she calculated a possible plan of attack. 

"Now," King continued "There are two ways that we can settle this. You can fight us and all of you will die, or you can surrender and—" 

 Sofia shook her head "And let me guess, we'll all still die. No, whether it kills me or not, your debt will be paid. As will mine. I'll never surrender to you. Not while my heart is still beating, and my friends are still breathing beside me. Firebird!" She cried out. 

Maia pushed her way to the front along with Alan. 

They stood beside their leader, their silent answer glittered in their eyes. Maia looked at Sofia who nodded ever so slightly. 

Sofia turned back to King and said "We fight!"

(Cress POV)

"Split!" Sofia called as fighting broke out all around "Don't hold back!" 

Without thinking, Cress leapt at the nearest member. His gun went off, but she remained untouched by the bulletproof vest under her shirt, courtesy of Firebird uniform. Sofia's rule number one 'Never leave the base without your vest'. 

The weight of her body threw him to the ground and the two grappled on the floor. A shrill scream broke Cress out of her concentration and she saw Anaconda with Riley in her grip out of the corner of her eye. "No!" She growled, with a swift kick to the face, she knocked the man out cold, then silently ran at Anaconda's back. 

Jumping up, she wrapped her arms and legs around the blond woman's neck and stomach, wrenching her arms away from Riley. 

"Fight someone your own strength." Cress growled into the Head's ear. 

 Anaconda only laughed and with a heave shook herself free of Cress's lock "You think you can take me girl?" 

Cress narrowed her eyes, blocking Anaconda's path to Riley. "Try me." She growled. 

Dropping low to one side, Cress dodged Anaconda's oncoming blow. Hooking her leg around the older women's calf, she brought them both down to the ground.

(MacGyver POV)

"Jack behind you!" MacGyver shouted as more and more chaos broke out. 

Just before the fights had started, Mac had sent a message to Matty requesting back up the minute he'd seen Sofia sense something was up. But he knew it be some time before they got here. 

Jack looked behind him and turned his attention to the brown haired male that was running at him. "Damn it! These people are fast! Mac!" He said dodging out of the way of the man's arm "Gimme a hand here." 

 While Mac and Jack combatted the attacker, he saw Sofia out of the corner of his eye, fighting with King. She was using the same fighting style that she'd used the day they'd taken her. Now that he looked at it, it seemed more like a dance than a fight. 

King lunged for Sofia, but she nimbly leaped out of the way before spinning around and giving King a neat swift kick to the face. King spun backwards and Sofia went in for the kill. His view was blocked off as another Member of the Ophidia came into view. 

He recognized her as the girl who had approached Sofia at the party, the one she'd called Persephone. Cage had too him how she'd sway Sofia into a relationship before betraying them to the Heads. 

She lunged for him, but MacGyver dodged her movement, and she missed her target. 

"You must be the infamous dead brother." She said, blocking his oncoming hit. 

She sent him a surprise blow to the gut, but he recovered with a hit to the face. Persephone turned back to him and snarled, blood dripping from the corner of her mouth. 

"You would be correct." He told her, grabbing one of her arms and flipping her onto her back. "And for the record," He told her "I know what you did to my sister."

(Cage POV)

Cage and Diamondback circled each other. Both women sizing up the other. Cage was careful to plan how she would move. From what Sofia said, the Heads were fast, smart, and deadly. She wouldn't put anything past this one. 

As fast as a pit viper itself, Diamondback lashed at Cage's legs in attempt to unbalance her, but the blonde agent was ready for her and jumped out of reach before going in with her own attack.  

Quick as a bullet, Diamondback was out of the way and moving behind Cage. She whipped around to face the Head and growled internally. This fight was going to be one of calculating the other's moves. 

Lunging again, she reached to the right, and Diamondback dodged again, putting herself right where Cage wanted her. Reaching with her left, she grabbed the unexpecting Head and twisted her into a harsh grip.

 But slippery as a snake, Diamondback broke free, and the game continued.

(Maia POV)

Maia fought along side Alan as they tag teamed the three members who currently stood in their way. More and more were pouring into the small space. 

 "Alan!" She yelled.

 "What?" He called back, slipping out of the way of an oncoming attack. 

"We can't hold them forever!" She said, sending her opponent flying. 

Alan rolled his eyes as they took on two more. "We're going to have to!" 

 Out of the corners of her vision, she saw Sofia and King matching each other blow for blow. King was stronger and more experienced, but Sofia was faster and more determined to win. 

It was then that something unexpected happened. King seemed to realize that Sofia wasn't going to give up anytime soon, because she faked to the left before taking off in the other direction, motioning for Mamba and Persephone to follow. 

"Spider!" Maia yelled at her friend. 

"I got it!" She called "Help Alan!" And with that, Sofia took off after the them. 

 Throwing her last opponent, she turned to where MacGyver was. She can't win by herself. 

"MacGyver!" 

 Mac's head snapped in her direction, and she motioned to where Sofia's form was still in sight. 

"She'll get killed on her own!" 

Mac shoved his opponent to the ground and said "Sorry Jack, I need to go." 

Sprinting in the direction of his sister, he turned the corner and disappeared.

 Maia turned back to the task at hand and dove back into the mass of fighting bodies. 

Be careful you two...
