(Cress POV)
"I still think it's incredible that you got them to agree to set the trap in their headquarters Cress." Riley said for the millionth time.
Cress chuckled "I know, you've only told me about a thousand times in the last twenty minutes."
Riley rolled her eyes "Can I not be proud of my friend?" She asked.
Cress looked up from the firewall that they were still trying to crack "I didn't know we were friends."
Riley shrugged and leaned back in her chair, watching Cress work her magic "If it's alright by you."
Cress smiled as she typed in the last few keys to the code she'd created "I'd like that."
Hitting enter, the pair crossed their fingers in hopes that this worked. The screen flickered a few times, but then the image of a private office came into view. Cress threw her arms up in the air and let out a soft whoop.
Riley was speechless beside her. "And you wow me once again." The dark haired agent said, shaking her head and smiling at Cress.
Cress shrugged "What can I say? I never fail to impress."
Riley clicked around to different images that were popping up. "You got into their entire surveillance system!" She exclaimed.
Cress nodded. "Sofia figured it might be useful. To be completely honest with you I broke the firewall about an hour ago."
"I could care less what you did." Riley told her "Now I have complete access to their facility."
"And my code is untraceable." Cress added "They wont know its there until we're right on top of them. By using the surveillance we can pick the best spot to lay our trap for them. The spot where they'd be most vulnerable."
Riley raised her eye brows at the blonde assassin "You're incredible."
Cress laughed "Why thank you. But you should probably let your boss know we cracked it."
Riley nodded, pulling out her phone, and alerted the Phoenix of their success.
(Sofia POV)
Sofia was lying flat on her back in her sleeping mat, shooting a rubber band she had found at the ceiling, before catching it again. She was growing bored of waiting for Riley and Cress to get into the system. She had given Cress strict instructions to get into the surveillance system too which she knew could take a while, but that didn't mean waiting for three hours was fun.
There was a knock at the door and then the familiar clicking sound of the metal door sliding open. She turned her attention from the ceiling to the door where her brother had appeared. Grinning wickedly at him, she flicked the rubber band and shot it in his direction, but he caught it before it could hit its target. Her smile fell and she rolled her eyes.
"Ugh, What do you want?" He sighed and looked down at her.
"Riley and your friend managed to crack their Firewall. Right into the surveillance system too."
Sofia shot up "They did it."
Her brother nodded and Sofia let out a breath of relief "You can always count on Firefly."
"Well come on then, They want to speak with you about the best place to set the trap. It needs to be in the most vulnerable spot."
Sofia's grin widened. This should be fun.
~~**~~**~~
Pushing open the doors to the War room, Sofia burst in and hurried to where the two hackers sat. "Let me see it." She demanded.
Cress turned the computer towards her. Sofia clicked through the screens, each showing different parts of their facility.
The lobby? No. Anyone would see. The head's office? Sofia shook her head at the thought. There's no way they'd lure someone all the way there. What about....aha! That's it, the training rooms. It's right near an entrance, but not heavily guarded. Everyone down there will be tired or inexperienced fighters as well as make shift weapons if needed.
She looked up "Okay. I've got it. The training area would be the best place to lure them down. It's not heavily guarded and it's right by an exit."
"Excellent." Matty's voice came from behind her, "If I recalled you had a plan?"
Sofia turned around where Matty, Cage, and Jack had entered the War room.
Sofia straightened "I've already spoken to the Firebird and we're all on board. The only way to get you in there is to pose as an extension of the Firebird."
She wanted to laugh at the thought "This means that when we go in there you'll have to be under my command. Oh and Blondie? No impromptu tricks unless absolutely necessary. We need this to be as believable as possible." Sofia crossed her arms "And you might want to find something that looks a bit more like us." She said, looking them up and down.
Pulling out her phone, Sofia pulled up the contact for the Ophidia and relayed a message.
Ready when you are.
End of Part 18
A/N: Sorry that this chapter is a little short. I needed a transition filler. The next chapter will have more drama/action, but I have a lot of ideas for it so it may not be up for a couple of days. Please bear with me on this. It sometimes takes me a bit with more complex chapters but I promise that it shouldn't be too long of a wait🙂
