The next day....
(MacGyver POV)
Mac paced back and forth across Sofia's holding cell. Yesterday's events were still fresh in his mind. What did all of it mean? He always knew that he and Cage shared a deeper connection than he did with most of the others besides maybe Bozer who was like a brother to him. However, he hadn't ever read any farther into it. But this? It was something he couldn't wrap his head around.
Was that connection all because Cage had these...these feelings for him? And the thing that boggled him the most was that the feelings may or may not be returned. But after so long of keeping it a secret from him, why do all this now? She had said before that she never got into relationships with people she worked with.
"Well are you going to tell me what this is about, or are you going to run a mile?" Sofia asked in a dry tone.
MacGyver finally stopped pacing and turned his attention to his sister who sat in the metal silver chair across from where he was standing. "I have a problem." He told her.
Sofia rolled her eyes "Correction. You have many problems. But why come to me with any of them?" She asked "You hate me."
MacGyver shook his head and sat down "I came to you because quite frankly if I went to anyone else I could lose my job. Not because I like you, or trust you, or anything else like that."
Sofia leaned forward and raised an eyebrow, an interested look on her face "Ah, secrets. Sounds fun."
MacGyver rolled his eyes "There's this person that I know, and...well something happened yesterday and she told me that she may...you know...." he trailed off
"Have feelings for you?" She finished.
MacGyver nodded "Yes, that."
Sofia looked at him thoughtfully "Someone here?" She asked with a sort of knowing look on her face.
MacGyver nodded again "Yep. That's why I can't tell anyone else."
Sofia leaned back in her chair and seemed to contemplate the situation "What about you? Do you have feelings for her too?" She asked him.
MacGyver shrugged "I don't know. Maybe? It's all so confusing."
Sofia chuckled "I'm going to take that as a yes."
MacGyver glared at her "This isn't funny you know."
Sofia shook her head, smiling with amusement as she did so "Oh no, this is all very funny. But Hey, all laughs aside, if you want my advice, I would talk to her about the situation. Let her explain what her feelings are, and you explain yours. That way there's no confusion on how the other feels. When it comes to love, assuming things about the other person is a big no no."
"I wouldn't say love." MacGyver told her.
Sofia sighed in exasperation "Well whatever it is, you need to talk to her about it."
MacGyver nodded and stood up, making his leave. But he turned around at the last second and flashed her a genuine smile "Thanks."
Sofia smiled back "No problem. It's not like I've got anything better to do."
"Anything from the Ophidia yet?" MacGyver asked.
Sofia shook her head "Not a word. Riley hasn't come for me yet."
"Well I'm sure we'll be hearing from our new friends soon." He said before walking out of the room and locking the door behind him.
Now to talk to Cage and get this...whatever it is all sorted out.
