Poisoned (Sonadow)

Chapter 29

Shadow's P.O.V.

I can't believe what just happened. Knuckles just insulted almost everyone in this house! He even made Miles cry, even though I don't know him for long,  I felt guilty when I saw him brake down in Sonic's arms.

When he called me a machine, I felt my heart sink, it reminded me the days when I was still at Ark, Dr. Robotnik would yell at me for every single mistake I made and calling me 'his worst machine'.

I stayed in place, not saying a think. "Hun, are you okay?" Rouge asked me, bringing me back in reality. I shook my head and looked at her. "Yes, I'm fine." I answered and teleported to the roof, I looked at the sky and laid down as horrible thoughts flooded my mind.

I sighed and closed my eyes. "He'll pay for that." I growled, tears slowly appearing in my eyes, but I managed to keep them from doing so. I've learned how to fight any emotion, with the hard way, when doctor yelled at me and tears appeared, he tortured me.

I heard the rest of the group arguing downstairs about Knuckles. When things became quiet, I decided to go and check on them. I was about to stand up, when I heared Rouge talking to someone.

"Poor Tails, he probably had feelings for Knuckles." She sounded hurt and guilty. 

"Yeah, Shadow seemed okay with all of this though, he didn't even try to defend himself or Sonic. I doubt he has feelings for him, if he did he would at least speak up." Silver said. My eyes widened and my ears lowered when I heard that. What if he and Knuckles where right? What if I was just a machine, not able to feel emotions?

"Don't say that! He does love him! You're just blind! He didn't say anything because of what Knuckles said, calling him a machine hurts him a lot." Rouge defended me. "It brings up bad memories." She said with a low voice.

I couldn't hear anything else from their talk, so i teleported back inside, thankfully no one was there, they were probably with Rouge. I went to the guest room, locked the door, closed the curtains and laid down, facing the ceiling.

Sonic's P.O.V.

I locked the door behind me and hugged Tails tightly, he had feelings for Knuckles for a long time, what he just said broke his heart. 

"Shh, it's okay buddy, I'm here." I rubbed his back. "He doesn't deserve your tears." I said in a low tone.

He sobbed and trembled in my arms. "I d-don't know w-what to d-do an-nymore." He calmed down a little. I broke the hug and smiled at him. "Don't worry, I'll help you get over him."

He looked at the floor and lowered his ears. "Are y-you sure? I c-can go at Vanilla's house. She knows too." He looked ashamed and desgusted with himself. 

"Of course I'm sure. What brother would I be if I leave you when you need me?" I hugged him again. Tails didn't hug back, he just stayed still.

"Tails?" I raised a brow. He broke down in tears again and hugged me, crying louder and louder each time. I didn't move wheb he did that, I continued rubbing his back until he stopped sobbing. I slowly parted us and saw Tails asleep. 

I softly smiled and put him on the bed. I covered him with a blanket, closed the curtains and left the room.

I looked around the house, but didn't find any one, not even Shadow. I got worried and called his name. "Shadow? Where are you?" I asked, but got no responce.

"I'm here." He answered a while later and opened the guest room door. I turned around and saw him standing in front of me with a serious expression, too serious than usually.

"Are you okay? You seem like something's bothering you." I asked him and caressed his cheek. He looked away and lowered his ears. "What if Knuckles was right?" He said, his voise sounded heartbroken. "What if I'm not meant for love?" He looke at me with tears in the corner of his eyes.

"Don't listen to Knuckles, he only said that to hurt you, you are the most kind hearted person I know, he didn't mean it when he caled you a robot." Tears started rolling down his cheeks when I finished my sentence. I hugged him tighly and he immediantelly hugged back, crying in my shoulder.

It hurt seeing Shadow like this, he always looks strong, but inside he's in pain whenever someone insults him. "Are you feeling better now?" I asked after he calmed down. He nodded slowly and broke the hug. 

"Did something else happen? I don't think Knuckles' words are the only thing that's bothering you." I held his hand. He nodded again. "Silver said the same thing, he said that I don't actually love you since I didn't try to defend you." He clenched his fist. 

I rubbed his shoulder and asked him if he wanted to take a nap with me, he accepted and walked with me to the room. I closed the curtains and he brought the blanket. I got under the blanket with him and cuddled his chest fur. 

"I love you." I said and closed my eyes.

"I love you too." He kissed my forehead soon after we fell asleep.
