Poisoned (Sonadow)

Chapter 34

Shadow's P.O.V.

After I put Sonic to bed I sat on the couch and hid my face in my hands as I sighed in annoyance and frustration. The only thing in my mind was Knuckles' words, my eyes started watering as I remembered the awful things that Dr.Robotnik did to me when I was at the Ark, the painful and terrifying operations that he did to me as I was awake, but nothing compared with the expression that Maria had on her face every time I begged for mercy.

I kept asking myself if I was actually worth to be Sonic's boyfriend, if I was even a living being, if I could prove everyone that don't believe in me that I have a heart... Do I even have a heart?...

I dropped my ears feeling my heart slowly braking and aching. I cried silently in my arms and questioned everything that I've gone through. 

Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder, I tensed up and quickly looked up to see Sonic softly smiling at me. 

"What's wrong Shad?" He said calmly and sat beside me. "Is it about what Knuckles said?"

I slowly nodded and looked down, I didn't say anything. He sighed and hugged me tightly. "Shadow, you shouldn't listen to that jerk, he's wrong and you know that."

I tensed up not expecting the hug and I felt my eyes watering again. I couldn't hold them anymore and broke down on Sonic's shoulder as I hugged back.

Sonic held me tightly the whole time, he rubbed my back gently and purred softly to calm me down. When I finally calmed down Sonic purred louder and broke the hug and caressed my cheek. "You know you can always tel me what's wrong Shadow, I would never judge you, I love you and care too much about you." 

I smiled softly at him and kissed him passionately, pulling him closer. Sonic gasped and tensed up then melted in the kiss and wrapped his arms around my neck as he kissed back with as much passion. I broke the kiss and purred softly. "Thank you Sonic, I lone you too." I smiled at him and kissed his cheek. Sonic purred happily and nuzzled me. 

"How did you sleep?" I asked and nuzzled Sonic. He chuckled and hugged me. "Good."

I nodded and hugged back, completely forgetting about Ark and Maria, the only thing in my mind was Sonic.

Sonic nuzzled my chest fur and I rested my head on top of his. I looked at his ears and without thinking I bit the tip of it, making Sonic yelp and tense up, I blushed when I realised what I was doing and quickly pulled away. 

Sonic raised a brow and giggled. "What's up with you today? You look so distracted." I  sighed and shook his head then smiled. "I'm sorry, I really don't know why I'm like that." I kissed his cheek.

Sonic chuckled and kissed my cheek, then stood up and stretched. "I'll make something to eat, do you want anything in particular?" 

"No, I'm fine with anything." I shook my head and laid on the couch and closed my eyes. After a few minutes Sonic sat beside me and plate my plate on my stomach. I opened my eyes and chuckled then sat up after I got the plate.

"What time is it?" I asked and took a bite from my chillidog. Sonic looked at the clock and chuckled. "It's seven already? Time passes quickly."

I nodded and finished eating then stood up and took Sonic's plate then washed the dishes. Sonic walked up to me and hugged me from behind, he rested his head on my shoulder and purred softly. "You don't have to do that, it's my home." I chuckled and shook my head "It's fine, don't worry about it." I smiled and finished. 

Sonic pulled away from the hug. "Do you want to go for some ice cream?"

I nodded and kissed his cheek "Sure"

Sonic smiled and happily dashed to the door. "Race ya there!" He said and sped off to the ice cream shop. I shook my head and laughed then chaos controlled to the shop, I waited for him and when he finally arrived he gasped. "How-... But you- You cheater!" He crossed his arms and pouted. I shook my head and chuckled. 

"You started earlier, it's not my fault." I shrugged. Sonic rolled his eyes playfully and opened the door, I told him to get me a chocolate ice cream since I didn't want to get in, the were too many people for my liking. He got in and after a few minutes he came back with a chocolate ice cream on one hand and cherry ice cream on the other. I was waiting for him beside the entrance with my arms crossed as I was looking at the floor, ignoring everyone else who gasped or glared at me.

Sonic gave me my ice cream and we walked on the park. "Why was everyone looking at you that way?" He asked me when we were alone. I shrugged and licked my ice cream. "I'm used to it, most people see me as a threat so they think I'll leave them alone if they show me how 'scary' they are or something, but only upsets me more so I don't even go outside at this point"

Sonic nodded slowly "I see... Well now that we're together I'll show them that you're not what they think you are" He smiled and held my hand. I chuckled and nodded "If you say so, then I guess I'll try to act more friendly." 

We continued our walk around the park and when it started getting late, we went home. I walked to the bedroom and plopped on the bed. Sonic came shortly after and chuckled. "Tired much?" He joked and laid on the bed. I rolled my eyes and sarcastically laughed then pulled him closer and nuzzled his neck, making him lightly blush and purr loudly, I chuckled and closed my eyes slowly fell asleep as I purred softly.
