Poisoned (Sonadow)

Chapter 31

Sonic's P.O.V.

After I was done giggling by myself on the bed, I went to wake up Tails so that we can eat together.

I slowly opened the door, because I didn't want to startle him, and saw that Tails was hugging his pillow and drooling while he snored. I chuckled and went up to him.

"Tails, wake up, Shadow made food for us." I shook him slightly. He groaned lowly and looked rubbed his eyes. "How long did I sleep for?" He asked me as he got up. 

"Three to four hours." I said and smiled.

"How many?" His eyes widened. "How could you wait that long?"

I scratched my head sheepishly. "I actually slept too."

He raised a brow and crossed his arms. "Since when do you sleep at afternoon?" I blushed slightly and lowered my ears.

Tails laughed and waved his hand. "I get it, don't worry." He got out of the room and went downstairs. I followed him and sat beside Shadow, while Tails sat across us.

We ate our food as a awkward silence filled the room, until Tails spoke up. "What are you going to do on April?" 

I looked at Shadow questionably when I saw he stopped eating. "I totally forgot about that." He said, sounding embarassed.

"What happens then?" I asked, but I soon enough remembered, my cheeks heat up as I face palmed. "I forgot about it too."

"How could you forget?" Tails giggled. I glared at him devilishly. "What do you mean?" I crossed my arms waiting fot an explanation.

"I mean that you're so dirty minded, that it's impossible to say something 'wrong' without you laughing." He jocked.

"That's not true! I only chuckle sometimes." I mumbled the last part and pouted.

Shadow chuckled and rolled his eyes. "I don't know what will happen on April, I can go home if you want." He changed the subject.

"Can we talk about this later? I feel uncomfortable talking about this infront of Tails." I said and ate a bite from my plate.

"Fine, whatever you say." Shadow got up and placed his plate on the sink. "I have to go to work, I'll see you in a few hours." He kissed my cheek and left the house. My ear flicked when he did that and I blushed a little.

Tails laughed at my actions and sat beside me. "Looks like you really like him." He nugged my arm.

"HA. HA. You're SO funny." I rolled my eyes and sarcastically laughed. "What are you going to do now? Do you mind Shadow staying with us?" I asked him.

"Not at all." He shook his head and smild warmly at me.

"Thanks bud. You're the best." I hugged him tightly and rubbed the top of his head, making him giggle.

We were watching TV, being bored out of our minds, until Shadow finally arrived.

"Hey Shad! How was work?" I asked him, my eyes not leaving the television.

"Boring as always." He sighed and sat beside me.

"Tails said that you can live here with us if you want to." I looked at him and smiled.

"Really? Won't I bother you?" He raised a brow.

"Not at all!" Tails said from the other side of the couch, he was looking at us with a warm smile.

"If you're okay with it, I guess I could stay." He shrugged.

"Thanks Shad!" I happily hugged him and thanked him.

He tensed from the sudden action, but eventually calmed down "Alright, alright. Don't go hyper." He chuckled and hugged me back.

I looked at Tails after our hug, he was looking at the TV, but I knew he was thinking about Knuckles. I felt guilty and I whispered at Shadow's ear what was going on with him. He then whispered back that I should spend more time with him. I nodded and sat closer to Tails and talked to him.

"How about we test Tornado tomorrow? Maybe even upgrading it?" I asked him happily.

He looked at me and smiled. "That sounds great!" He giggled.

I nodded and looked at the time, it was getting late. "Well, it's getting late. I don't know about you, but I want to sleep again." I stretched and walked up the stairs.

I heard footsteps behind me, so I thought it was Shadow, but to my surprise, he didn't follow me. Instead, he sat on the cough, looking like he was thinking about something, but I just shrugged it off, guessing it was about his work.

I said goodnight at Tails, went inside my room and under the blanket, but I didn't sleep.

I was scared of sleeping alone, worried that I might see the nightmare the I saw today. I turned around, not being able to get comfortable and I started wondering about Shadow.

Thankfully, Shadow came inside the room after a few minutes and got laid beside me.

"What took you so long? Is something bothering you?" I asked him after I hugged him.

"Nothing important, really. I was wondering what we are going to do on April, our mating season starts then, I don't know what Tails will do if I stay here." He blushed a little and looked at me.

I stared at him for a few seconds, thinking of a solution. "He can go to Vanilla's. He goes there frequently, I don't think he will mind."

"So you're saying I'll stay here?" He smirked. I felt my face burn after I realised that he git me in his trap. "I-uh... I didn't say that. I mean, if you want to
guess you could stay." I fiddled the blanket and turned around, being too embarrassed to face him.

I felt two hands hug my waist and pulling me closer to Shadow. "I was joking. I can leave if you want." He nuzzled my neck, sending shivers down my spine.

"N-no, I want you to stay." I stuttered. "If you say so." He kissed my neck, making me purr. I turned around and pecked Shadow's lips. "Goodnight." I said cheerfully.

"Goodnight." Shadow said and closed his eyes. At that point I had completely forgotten about my nightmare, and fell asleep peacefully.
