Once again I find myself staring out of the window of my English class in complete boredom. The teacher was late. The other students were being... well the other students. Roman was reciting his lines like he always does. I could hear him practically belting it out as he sat on his desk. I wanted to run. I just don't understand why I have to share a class with the theater genius anyway.

The only thing he actually takes seriously is his acting. Even Virgil said so and he's practically mute. I glanced over to the other students and sighed. Virgil was writing away in his notebook like usual. Patton was listening to Roman's reenactment of his part as Prince Charming in last years musical adaptation of Cinderella. I rolled my eyes and started to pack up when someone walked in.

"Good morning students. Sorry, I'm late." I groaned looking up to find the teacher writing on the board. I was actually hoping class was canceled. I put my bag back under the desk and watched as Mr. Sanders started writing all our names on the board. "It's final project time and I've decided to put you all in groups."

"Are you trying to torture us?" I mumbled causing several people to glare at me. Mr. Sanders just frowned and shook his head as he pointed back towards the board.

"The last project is a creative writing piece. You can take it however you want but it has to be a GROUP piece. Meaning you ALL must participate." I glanced at the board spotting my name in a group of five and I frowned. Of course, he put me in with them. "Roman, Virgil, Patton, Logan, and Cassidy, you will be together. Please, no fighting."

"If you thought we would fight then why group us together?" I asked as I looked out the window again. Mr. Sanders just sighed as he started to erase the board.

"I grouped people together that I believed would bring things to the table that would support each other." I groaned glancing around at the others and frowned. Yeah sure... What exactly can we bring to the table? What could I bring to the table? The only reason I'm in this class is because its mandatory. Pretty sure I can say the same about every other student in this class. "The creative piece can not only be about anything but be anything as well. It can be a story a poem, I don't care. Just work TOGETHER!"

"Hello, Cassidy!" I looked over to see Patton standing there with his hand out to shake. I just narrowed my eyes and his smile got wider. "I'm glad I can get a chance to know you better."

"You... are like a lost child." He shot me this confused look and I shook my head. Might as well get this over with. I grabbed my stuff and moved over to the back table where the others had already set their stuff up. Virgil was still just writing away in his book, while Roman kept trying to sneak peeks but wasn't allowed to see anything. I glanced around the table and narrowed my eyes. I'm confused. "So... Who is this Logan Dewitt?"

"That would be me. My apologize I for this late introduction." I turned around to this person holding his hand out towards me. He was wearing this dark blue dress shirt tucked into dark colored jeans. His hair was slicked back and his tie was nice and neat. He was obviously a nerd. Great... just another person I won't get along with. I shook my head ignoring his outstretched hand and sat down farthest from the group without actually being separate from them. "Ok then..." Logan sat next to Patton and I narrowed my eyes. "What ideas do we have for the project?"

"A PLAY!" Roman yelled causing Virgil to jump and I sighed shaking my head.

"We are not doing a play." I called out and Roman shot me a dirty look. Patton's face lit up and I groaned. "We are not writing a children's book either." His face fell and I ran a hand through my hair. "We all have to participate so it has to be something that we all can contribute to."

"Well, why don't we start by getting to know each other..."

"My name is Patton Baker." Patton said as he cut Logan off. "I am 21. My favorite color is blue. I love EVERYTHING! Except for spiders. Spiders are horrible. They're scary and evil. Creepy crawly death dealer..." I watched as Patton visibly shook. He looked back up at us with this big bright smile. "Oh and I'm getting a degree in early childhood development and education." Sounds about right...

"Roman Darcy, 21, Red..." Roman started to mumble clearly unsure what the point of this was. Suddenly his eyes lit up and he started to smile. "I like Disney... and Disney... oh and Disney. I love to sing and act and I am very good at it. OH and..." I groaned out loud and he clammed up slightly glaring over at me. Too many overexcitable people. One is one too many and we have two! "I'm a theater major..."

"V-Virgil..." We all glanced over at the quiet man as he hugged his notebook close to his chest. " 'm 19." He looked down at his hands and I smiled. He actually said something. Even if it wasn't a lot. Virgil's a selective mute. So him even just saying that was very big for him. I'm actually proud. They all glanced over at me and I started to feel uncomfortable.

"No." That was all I said. Just no. Logan rolled his eyes and pushed his glasses up he glanced around the table.

"Ok then. I'm Logan Dewitt. I am 20. I major in criminal justice with a subspecialty of foreign affairs. I am fluent in several different languages such as English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Swedish, German, Japanese, and Korean. I am proficient in mathematics and..."

"We get it your a nerd." Roman said as he threw a book at Logan, who caught it effortlessly. I narrowed my eyes as Logan carefully placed it on the table ignoring the shocked expressions from the others. He just fixed his tie and smiled.

"I am, and your point is?" Roman looked away and I laughed, only earning me a look from Logan. "I went first so now it's your turn."

"Dude... No. I don't... I..." I could feel my anxiety start to build as they just stared at me. "There isn't anything special. Ok? I'm 20... I don't have any hobbies or talents. Or..." They all looked at me with either a sad or confused look and I groaned, shrinking in on myself. "Just forget it. I'll contribute where I can."

"Well now that we got that out of the way. What should we do for our project?" Logan repeated as I looked away from the group.

"A PLAY!"

"A CHILDREN'S BOOK!"
