"Don't leave me." He stopped, frozen on his way to the door, and turned around in confusion. I gripped my chest as my heart started to race. His eyes narrowed and I tried to smile but it wouldn't come out right. "Stay... Please."
"Why?" His voice was hoarse and shaky. He crossed his arms and I looked at the floor.
"Because... Because I want you too."
"Why?" He got a little louder and I frowned.
"Because I want to be with you."
"WHY?!" I reeled back and he sighed. "I'm a villain." He walked back over and knelt down on the floor in front of me. "You're a hero." He looked up at me and I cringed at how soaked his mask looked. "I shouldn't even be here. I don't know what got into me. I was pissed off and got drunk... I didn't even get rejected, I just..."
"Rejected?" He nodded and laid back onto the floor covering his eyes with his arm. "Who would've..."
"Do you want a valentine Logic?"
"This again?" He nodded and I frowned. "No. They have no actual meaning. The papers just get thrown away. The chocolates melt before you even eat them. That is if you can. The flowers prick your fingers and the those ridiculous stuffed bears only waste space. God forbid you to have a pet, all those gifts could pose quite a threat to them. Especially the chocolate." And the fact that when you're at school you have to watch as every kid in your class gets these candies and stuff and you... you get nothing. And that's on a good day... "Valentine's day is just a pointless fake holiday. People who feel they need a Valentine are insecure and those you give them are hopeless. I am neither. I don't want one."
"That's good." He whispered not even bothering to move his arm and look at me. "Cuz... I threw mine away."
"What?" My hands started to shake as a smile but a sad smile formed on his lips.
"I threw mine away. It works out though. I can't make anything. What made me think homemade chocolates were gonna be any different." He moved his arm and sat up smiling brightly at me. "If I gave them to you, I worry I would have just gotten you sick."
"Y-You... you m-made me..." He looked down at his hands and sighed.
"Like I said it was for the best. Why would you even accept something like that from me? At the least, you'd probably think it was a trap. Or poisoned... That's the problem though. I'm a villain. I shouldn't be making valentines. Especially for a hero."
"Deceit..."
"I understand. If only I had met you 6 years ago. Things might have been different. Of course, they also might not have. I might have just dragged you all down with me. " He started to shake again as he gripped his hair crying.
"Deceit."
"That asshole. Those people... They know nothing... They all said I... I just... They're wrong. I didn't do it." My eyes went wide as he shook his head as if he was trying so hard to get the memories out of it. " I didn't... Now here I am. I fell... and no one bothered to hold their hand out to catch me. Why would they?"
"Deceit!" He looked over at me and smiled.
"I'm alone." I reached out and he shook his head. "In general. You have Rez and Inferno. They're by your side no matter what. And you're by theirs, despite Inferno's obvious lack of control. Or Rez's soft personality, you don't ever leave them. I'm..." He shook his head and laughed. "I'm the strongest Villain around right now. Everyone either wants to use me or knock me down a peg. That's how villains are I suppose. That's why I don't get close to anyone. They'll stab me in the back the moment it benefits them all."
