"Good morning Cassidy." I smiled as Mr. Sanders pointed back to the table my group was and I smiled wide.
Better play your part to perfection... I frowned and quickly made my way over to the table keeping my head down and hands in close. Maybe I should've taken a bit off. If I snap here it won't be good. ...Wouldn't want Patton to figure it out, now would you?
"Shut up."
"What was that kiddo?" I looked up to see them all looking at me and I quickly looked away.
"Nothing. So where are we at?" Logan was watching me carefully as Roman started going off on theories and what not. Virgil wrote each one of them down and I shook my head. It was all ridiculous.
"What if he's this test subject and he's completely mental?" I started laughing my ass off freaking literally everyone out. Logan narrowed his eyes and Roman started to awkward laugh alone until I stopped.
"Deception... a fucking insane test subject. You've gone from abused to alien to test subject. What's with all of this..."
"We started to think that maybe he was traumatized." Roman cut me off as he started drumming the table. "Either that or he's insane." My face fell as he turned his computer over to show me the latest post from Anxiety. It was from when I almost killed them. When Patton was on the floor and from when I exploded.
"Deceit shows his more dangerous side as he nearly defeats the Revenants." I locked on to the small print and felt as my body began to burn. "Revealing powers possessed by the late... the late..." The voice in the back of my head roared with laughter as my hands began to shake. "Uh... the l-late... Bloodborne. Possible Familial t-ties..."
"What?" Roman took the computer back as I just sat there in shock. "I didn't see that part."
"Small text... under the headline. Light p-purple font." The laughter continued and I started to shake. His laugh... it just... it just won't...
"Cassidy." Logan grabbed my hand and I shook myself from my thoughts, noticing everyone concerned look. I pulled my hand from Logan giving him a confused look and putting them both in my pockets as I leaned back lazily.
"So we're still trying to dig into his past? Whatever happened to leaving well enough alone?" Logan pulled his arm away with a frown and Patton started to look between the two of us. Uh oh... Better watch out, I think Patton's on to you. Shut it...
"Well, we never agreed to that. Besides I think that..."
"I think people need to leave well enough alone." They all just stared at me in shock as I cut Roman off. I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. I came here to try and get away from this shit. "He's clearly unhinged. He's a villain. Total psycho... Why care?"
"Says the guy with a whole journal about him." Roman glared at me as he started sifting through his computer. "Why don't you actually help instead of constantly to sabotage?"
"Sabotage?!" Roman narrowed his eyes and I was honestly shocked. "That's what you think I doing?"
"What else could it be?"
"I just don't think that it's right to be digging into someones past like that. What if you find something you wish you never knew?" Logan's eyes narrowed as I clenched my fist trying to tune out the voice laughing at me again. Roman scoffed and turned the computer around to show this news site and my heart dropped.
"Why don't we just ask the press?"
"FuCk. ThE. mEdIa!" I growled out as I gripped my head in pain. The laughter got so loud and I looked up to find Logan and Roman standing up in shock just staring at me. They looked between each other and I laughed. "You know what no. Do what you want, you won't listen anyway. But don't be surprised if you find shit so twisted you can't sleep at night." Virgil slammed his fist on the table causing everyone to jump. He held his notebook up forcefully and I sighed.
'Stop talking like that.' I rolled my eyes as I sat back lazily again.
"He's a villain. There's bound to be a dark and twisted past." He just looked at me with disbelief and I laughed. "That's just how villains..."
"HE'S NOT A VILLAIN!" I stopped short hearing Virgil scream out. Even everyone else in the class froze up. "Deceit is not a villain, and I refuse to let anyone especially you talk shit about him."
"Wow, the first time you talk so surely and it's about a monster..."
"CASSIDY RHODES I SWEAR TO GOD!" I flinched hearing the pain in his voice. I'm guessing he remembers... That isn't good though because if he remembers then... then... Then he knows too.
"What do you mean he isn't a villain?" Patton was the first to break the silence. Of course, he is though, he personally knows Deceit. Me... Everyone else is just in shock. "Kiddo?"
"S-Sup...per S-Se..."
"Do Not Say Another Word." Virgil froze up and I instantly felt guilty telling him to stop talking but... I can't let them know. I can't let Rez know. He'll tell the others and then where will I be? My guess... In a gutter. You've gotten weak. "Shut up."
"You shouldn't talk to..."
"Back off Roman!" I gripped my shirt as my heart began to race and I tried to slow my breathing down. I glanced over at Virgil with a sad smile and he frowned underneath his hood. "I-I'm sorry. I d-d... d-did-dn't..." And now your stutters back. Oh poor unfortunate soul...
"Cassidy..." Roman slowly closed his computer and I gave up. I gave up... on trying to ignore the voice. I gave up on trying to smile. I gave up on caring. I took a deep breath and started to pack my things. "Where are you going?"
"Away. I'm not feeling well." I started to go when Roman jumped up causing me to freeze. I looked back at him in confusion and he just sat back down. "Sorry... again, Virgil."
