A play?! A fucking children's book?! HOW DOES THAT HELP ME?! I screamed out in frustration earning several horrified looks from people in the room. Those assholes can't think of anything past themselves. Think about it. A play? What's Virgil gonna do? He can't speak. He can't do anything that Roman can. And a childrens book. How is that going to let Logan do anything? His expertise is in law and languge. Not kids storries and fairytales. I grabbed the beer bottle and chucked it at the wall watching all the pieces shatter. I smiled hearing people scream in shock and I cracked my neck, spinning around with a huge grin on my face.
"Sorry about that. Hard day at the office." I laughed and everyone just got very quiet. "Oh come on guys. Don't be mad at me. It's just a little glass."
"Uh... Deceit?" I looked over to see this guy and I raised my eyebrow at him. "Don't... D-Don't you have a job t-to do?" My smile fell and they started to shake. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean..." I burst out laughing pulling the guy into a harsh hug before literally throwing him into the crowd.
"Thanks for reminding me. See I told you..." My voice went deep and guttural and I practically growled. "I had a hard day."
I walked out of the building feeling my skin start to crawl. I have to work with Roman... ROMAN! I blast of energy pulsed from me surging the light out and I rolled my eyes. Can it, Caz. That can wait. Right now you have somethings to finish before heading home.
I found myself perched up above just watching everyone below. Look at them. Not a damn care in the world. They're all just in their own world minding there own business and... I jumped down causing a shockwave sending people flying back and denting the ground where I landed.
"Suprise!" People went running in every direction. I crossed my arms and stomped my foot making the ground shake beneath me. Car alarms went off. Windows and street lamp bulbs shattered. I just laughed as everyone screamed. "Were you all running off to? I only wanted to say hello." I grabbed the closest person and felt their heart racing, their veins pulsing under my thumb. "Hello there." I bared my fangs and they screamed as I leaned in. I wasn't actually going to bite them. That's gross. What I was doing was called acting. Something that Roman isn't the only one able to do.
"Let them go Deception!" I smiled wide and dropped the person, watching them run off scared shitless. Oh come on, you probably tasted horrible anyway. I don't know where you've been. "Stirring up trouble again I see." I slowly turned around to see just the person I wanted to. And he was by himself.
"Me? Trouble? Hardly. I just wanted to say hello." I smiled, holding my hands up as he crossed his. "Where're your friends. Don't tell me those two left ya hangin'. And here I thought heroes stick together." He narrowed his eyes and I frowned. Oh, what I wouldn't do to see beneath that mask of his. I jumped up and sat down on the top of a car, crossing my legs and smiling wide. I really did only want to chat. Not that I would ever tell him that. "You even got all dress up for little ole me." He raised an eyebrow and sighed.
"Decept..."
"Now you stop right there, Logic. I wouldn't want you to get... tongue tied." I laughed as these chains wrapped around his feet locking him in place. He glared up at me and I returned it back. I didn't move. I didn't attack him or anything. I just didn't want him to leave. It's simple really. After 5 years of fighting, I may... or may not have... developed a crush on the hero.
"Let me go."
"Now why would I do that? Your right there. All alone. No stupid Inferno to come rescue you with his overdramatic shitshow. No Resonance to heal you or... well do whatever it is he usually does." I pushed myself over till I was nearly falling off the car roof. "Now tell me... What kinda of a name is Logic anyway? Not very... inspiring for a hero."
"What kind of a name is Deception?" I smiled wide and he rolled his eyes. "You're just messing with me."
"What makes you say that?" He raised an eyebrow at me and ran a hand through his messy hair.
"You put on this elaborate show to draw me. You then trap me here only to sit and chat like your on vacation. Your messing with me." I laughed as I laid back with my head upside down off the roof.
"Can't I just... say hello? I did say that was what I was doing." He just scoffed and I rolled over off the car landing on my feet. I brushed myself off and walked over until I was right in front of him. "What? Don't you like me?"
"You're a villain. So... No not really." To say that didn't hurt would have been a lie, but he is right. He's a fucking hero Caz. Don't let it get to you. "Decept..."
"You know I'm actually very busy. I have this thing to do so... I'm just gonna go." I turned to leave and Logic grabbed my arm. I glanced back to see him pointing at the chains. I narrowed my eyes and yanked my arm out of his grip. "You're a hero, Logic. Figure it out yourself."
"Deception!" I walked off ignoring his pleas just trying to hold back the tears the welled up. "DECEPTION YOU VILLIAN SHIT! LET ME GO!" I reached out and clenched my fist causing the Lamp post beside me to crumble in on itself. Logic clammed up and I walked off leaving him there.
I got home and stripped out of my costume, putting on jeans and a black hoodie before collapsing on to my bed. I'm such a fucking moron. Stupid hero son of a bitch... The computer dinged and I groaned. Seriously? I just got in the door. I'm a mess. I can't... It dinged again and I sighed, wiping the tears away from my face as I opened my laptop to find a skype call request.
"Hey, Caz. Sorry, it's so late. I've been... Caz what's wrong?" Patton's face popped up and I shook my head, still wiping the tears away. "Caz..."
"I'm sure it's just some random character died in a show he watches." Roman popped up and I groaned. Sitting back on the bed with my laptop. I could see Virgil as well and I smiled as he started typing away.
'Don't be mean Roman.' Virgil frowned and Roman sighed. 'Has anyone seen Logan?'
"He... uh, well..." Roman and Patton both looked a bit uncomfortable. "He's not..."
"Roman! Patton!" Logan's voice came through the call and I rolled my eyes. "You would not believe the day I had. This guy... What are you doing?"
"Skype call, Logi. You know... for the project." I saw him peek over Patton's shoulder and my eyes went wide. He was a total mess. Completely different than neat nerd I saw earlier today. He had this gym bag over his shoulder and his glasses were a little askew. It looked like he ran all the way home from somewhere. He looked tired. "Why don't you get yourself cleaned up and then you can join us."
