Super Secret~ A Villain's Story

"CASSIDY!" I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and I froze up. Patton whipped himself around and sat at the table only to freeze and freak out. "Oh my, kittens. Caz what happened? Why are you wearing that mask? I thought you said you were just sick." I absentminded placed my hand on the white mask I got to hide the burns and scales and frowned. 

"Yeah, about that... I lied." Patton's eyes went wide and he started to freak out again. I reached out grabbing his hands and smiled seeing him calm down a bit. "I just didn't want you to worry. It was my own damn fault." I let go and he looked at me in confusion. "I decided to skate down Gallows hill. Totally fucked it. Got a face full of asphalt."

"Nooo..."

"Yep." I pointed up at the mask and cringed slightly. "Doc says I gotta keep it on to prevent infection or something. Don't worry though, I'm sure I'll heal up quickly."

"I hope so. Otherwise, I'm going to start calling you Phantom of the opera." Roman started laughing as he sat down in his usual spot. My smile fell and I rolled my eyes. I saw Roman actually look me over and he frowned. "You ok?"

"Yeah, hurts like a mother fucker but... I'm alive." I trailed off as Logan and Virgil sat down and sighed. "So, what do you guys have because I have nothing."

"Cookies!" I narrowed my eyes at Patton who looked around confused. "Oh you meant for the project... yeah I don't have much either." I watched as Pat pulled out a tub of cookies and I smiled. How is this guy so childlike? "I keep going back to when they met."

'I really want to know what happened during Valentine's day.' Virgil chipped in causing me to choke on a cookie and I glared at him. 

"I want to know more about what happened Friday." Roman said sadly as he rested his head on his hand. "Clearly Inferno was in the wrong. Why did Deceit help him?"

"Deceit didn't help him. Why does everyone just assume he was lying? Why would a Villain want to help a hero? It makes no sense." I yelled out causing everyone to look at me in shock. "Inferno is a hero. Sure he doesn't have much control but if he got a handle on it then nothing could stop him from doing what he wants, which is to help people."

"I thought you didn't like Inferno." Roman whispered as he pushed his pencil around.

"I just..." I looked away felt myself start to close off a bit. "I just don't want the media warping things around and turning another decent hero into a bad guy. It isn't right."

"Another?" I looked up at Logan and frowned.

"What?"

"You said another decent hero..." I shook my head and Virgil froze, putting his pen down and looking up at me. "What to do you mean another hero?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"You just said..."

"Let's not fight, ok. We have to work together." Patton said as he shoved a cookie into our hands. Logan just set it down but my stomach growled and I ate mine slightly embarrassed. It not my fault ok? I haven't eaten anything since the fight with Inferno, everything tasted like ash and I could smell anything but smoke. I don't understand how these cookies are the first thing that didn't make me want to hurl. I looked up to see Patton giving me a concerned look and I frowned. "Thanks... for the... for the cookie."

"No problem, Kiddo. Anyway back to the project, what about if we..."

'I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT VALENTINE'S DAY!' Virgil wrote in big bold letters and I groaned.

"Why? The only way you would find that out is if you asked one of them. There is no information on it. Not even Anxiety posted on it. Ironically, since they seem to know everything..." I looked away as Logan just sat there frozen. "What's up with you? You seem lost in thought. You have any idea's?"

"Not particularly no. I would love to look at your notebook again. It does have a lot of... useful information on Deceit." I shook my head and laughed, wincing at the pain in my ribs. 

"Not gonna happen, Lo-man. My journal my rules. No one reads it but me."

"Your acting like it's a diary." Roman whispered and I narrowed my eyes. 

"It's my property and you were very rude about it last time... so I left it at home." I growled and Patton started shaking his head. My phone started ringing and I phoned, picking it up. I narrowed my eyes at the caller Id and shoved it back into my bag.

"Is something wrong? You didn't look too happy." Logan asked as he finally started to eat his cookie.

"Nah, just some asshole trying to start shit. Don't know how he got my number. Ok, so... we have a topic, but nothing to write about. Why don't we take a clue from Anxiety and just write everything?"

"What do you mean kiddo?" I grabbed my computer out of my bag and brought up the DeceptivePanic blog site, turning it around for everyone to see. "Why don't we forgo the story idea and just do what this person is doing? Let just write down what we know."

"That's where it was heading anyway." Logan called as he started to write down some more things.

"Thanks, caption obvious..." My phone started going off again and I sighed pulling out, once again seeing Jax's name pop up. I frowned and answered it ignoring the looks from the others. "Talk."

"Hey, there Snake." I rolled my eyes at his voice and frowned even more. Did I mention I don't like this guy? "So I just got out of this interesting convo with someone I think you've heard of before. I think he called himself Bloodborne." I felt my body freeze up and I just sat there as my phone fell out of my hand onto the floor. "He... de... we...did....go..."

"Caz?" My body started shaking as images past through my mind. Just fire and smoke and falling bits of building that threatened to crush everything underneath it. Scream's of people just trying to get out. Laughter... nothing but cold laughter... cold... "CASSIDY!" Someone turned me around gripped my hands tightly.

"What?" I looked up to see Logan with utter concern on his face. He reached out to take the mask and pushed him away. I know he was only trying to help, but still... "Don't touch."

"Kiddo, are you ok?"

"I'm fine. Right as rain. Practically perfect. I... I have to go."
