Sweet Pea

I sat at the bar with my face burning.
I was blushing for sure.

"So? You going to tell me what happened out there?" -Toni

A big wide smile was plastered on my face. I couldn't stop.

"Uh.....idk...I think I'm just high" -me

It's true I was high but I don't think I've ever felt like this, except one other time.

"Really?" -Toni
I looked at her questionably

"So nothing happened when Sweet Pea went out there to talk to you?" -Toni

My face dropped.

"When you left he came here askin for your name, I told him he had to ask you himself. And I know Sweet Pea. I know how attractive he can be" -Toni

"So you guys have dated?" -me

Toni laughed

"No, I prefer girls" -Toni

That explained the cute-ass wink she gave me.

I giggled.
"I just think that for one moment he got real close...and maybe..I almost couldn't stop myself." -me

"Oh? And that's all that happened?"
-Toni

"Yea and then I just left him standing there in my dust" -I laughed

We both laughed

"I'll have some vodka shots and if you don't mind...I'd love it if you joined me?" -me

Toni smiles at me and started to pour us shots

"Your in luck. My shift is going to end in 10 minutes and I usually end a shift tipsy anyways." -Toni

"Cheers!" We both shouted.

After we each had 4 shots. We were telling each other our worst bar pick up lines.
And we laughed so much, it was hard to stop.
I quickly got hot. So I took off my sweater.

"Wow!" -Toni
"What?" -me
"I didn't know you had a body like that. But I really love your badass outfit"

"Oh...uh thanks" -Toni

Just then Sweet Pea sauntered between us and ordered a punch.
He was clearly intoxicated.

"Toni wanna chill by the river with some drinks?" -me

"Yea sure. Just the two of us?" -Toni

"Sure I'll come too. Yenno just to make sure no monsters come out looking for their next meal." -Sweet Pea

"Uhhhh ok" -me

"Hell I'll bring fangs too so we don't end up having a threesome" -Sweet Pea

At that me and Toni started laughing.

"Yea because I would totally sleep with you." Toni said sarcastically

"I would" -Sweet Pea

"Ok so who can drive us? Or we could just walk there..." -me

"We can't. Goulies like to come out at night and start fights." -Toni

"And that's the specific reason me and fangs are coming too. To protect you guys from the drugged out goulies."

I looked at Toni and gave her a thumbs up.

"Go get fangs and Toni and I will go ahead to the liquor store and meet you guys there" -me

"No way. I have to make sure goulies don't crash the party" -Sweet Pea

"Sweet Pea we'll be fine. And if the goulies want to play tonight. I hope they try to mess with us." -Toni

I gave her a "wdym" look because we had no weapons to protect ourselves.
Toni walked away and said she'll be right back.
I turned to Sweet Pea and he looked just as confused as I was.

"He'll watch us" -Toni said as she returned.
She had the serpent king with her.

They all shared a look of respect and understanding.
And with that Sweet Pea left to go get whoever this fangs person was.

"So this is your insurance that the goulies won't try something?" -me
"Fuck yea. They won't mess our king."    -Toni
