Thankfully he did follow, knowing Todoroki he would've easily left me. He remained silent as I walked us to somewhere private we can talk.
"Wait! You forgot this!" A woman's voice yelled down the road.
I squinted at a running figure than to Todoroki. He shrugged to me and looked on lazily at the woman coming our way.
I tore my eyes away from his handsome face to look both ways down the road to see if she was possibly talking to someone else. No, there was no one in front of or behind us, we were the only ones on the road.
As she got closer I recognized the long blonde hair and purple uniform from the Ramen shop. It was the same waitress that served Kita and I soup.
I patted down my pockets for my phone. It was in my back butt pocket, safe and sound. I lifted my foot to check my boot for my wallet and that was safe and snug too.
That's all I carried on my person today. Plus a knife, but that's safe in my other boot. I turned around and continued walking.
"Come on, Todoroki," I called. "Whatever it is, it's not mine."
Todoroki didn't move though. He stared suspiciously at the woman who was now slowing to a jog as she got near to us.
"You waited! Thank god! She forgot this in the restaurant." She handed Todoroki something small, I couldn't make out what it was.
"Who are you? A friend of her's?" She asked. I've never seen this woman before today. She's plain-looking and in her 20's. Her voice was friendly, too friendly for my liking.
I stomped over and grabbed Todoroki's hand. At the moment I got jealous for some reason. The look on the woman's face gave me a bad feeling. She's unnaturally interested in Todoroki.
I suppose he is unnatural looking. His heterochromia eyes, dual hair color, and then the scar across the left side of his face. I stare all the time at him, so I should understand. But, hell no. No one else can stare but me.
The woman took my irritation as her time to leave and ran off. Not even in the right direction to Happy Bento. I ignored her and turned back to my friend.
He was staring down at our hands. A slight blush claiming his fair skin.
Todoroki shook his head and took his hand out of mine. This action made me feel a bit hurt. I frowned.
He brought his hand up to show me what was inside. It was a small bonbon. The wrapping was blue and the writing said spicy ginger.
My heart made a leap. That is the same bonbon Kita tried to give me during our lunch.
This was a warning. The waitress was the messenger. Probably the spy too.
I took off running, leaving Todoroki to follow me again. I ran after the waitress. I don't know where she went but she has to know something. I followed the road she took. Except it leads me nowhere. There was no sign of the woman.
"Suzuki stop! Who are we chasing?" Todoroki yelled from beside me. He's keeping up easily even though I ran with adrenaline rushing through my veins.
I didn't answer. I turned a corner and rushed to where the restaurant is. After only a few minutes we made it. I burst open the doors and glared at everyone in sight. The waitress wasn't here or was hiding in the back.
I went right up to one of the workers and demanded to see the videotape.
"My sister was kidnapped just a few moments ago. What do you mean you can't show me!" The young man looked like he was about to run away crying because of my rage.
