“Tara, look whatever it is, I don't want to fight now and ruin the weekend. I really really need some relaxation and this isn't helping.”
I said in the most civilized and polite manner possible when I literally wanted to kill her.

“You are just misunderstanding. I, I'm not here to fight with you. I came to apologize.” She said.

Wow Myra did train her well. For all I know that girl is sitting in Tara's brain controlling her ever blink and every word and every move. Tara is quite a robot. Oops, the robot is speaking something, I need to pay attention and spend more time outside my mind.

“....and that wasn't the right thing to do." She said.
" I'm sorry I lost you.” I apologized.
" I was saying, when I heard about your and Abhaas’ fight, I was very happy. I know I shouldn't have been but I liked him and with the fight, you were out of my way.”

I can already hear the blunt Myra from her vocal chord.

“So I contacted him but realized he was still mad at me.”
"Tara, come to the point." I said.
Guess what? Myra isn't the only blunt animal on Earth.
“I just want to say sorry. For everything. Siding with Myra was the worst decision of my life. I was trying to be a wedge in the two of you and that wasn't really the deed that could gein me merit.”

I nodded. She better realises her mistakes. She has put me into a lot of trouble, first with Sanket and then with Roop.

“I just want things to be diplomatic between us. Abhaas is already ignoring me, but we were best friends Ahana, and I want to pay for all of my mistakes. Will you give me a second chance?”
" Glad that you remember we were friends. Tara, friends don't do bad things to each other, so bad that they cringe at the thought of those bad memories. Remember this is your only chance.”

" Thank you.” She said and turned to leave.
" One more thing,” i stopped her.
“I'm very happy for you and Yash, but if you hurt him, or leave him devastated, I'll burn down every piece of yours on this Earth, and I mean it.”

She was scared. I have to admit, I am scary. However she looked pretty sure about her love for him. Maybe this time, she's on the right path.

I heard my phone constantly buzz by my pillow. Ugh these alarms will have a special place reserved for them in hell. Irritatedly, I picked up the phone and saw Abhaas’ message asking me to come out of the room. I made sure that I didn't wake up Ulka and went out silently.

Abhaas was standing near the main door with a hoodie in his hand and my pair of sport shoes outside the door.
“What?" I asked.
“Just come. I want to take you somewhere."
I raised an eyebrow at him.
" You said you will give me a chance to mend things between us." He reasoned.

" Okay, I'll be back.” I left.
I freshened up, wore a decent pair of socks and came back in 10 minutes. He handed me his hoodie and I wore it like it belonged to me.
I could've gotten my hoodie from the room, but this cream colored heaven was hard to avoid.

We went running up a hill and there, sat on one of the huge rocks. Right before us, the orange ball of fire rose up in the sky. The first ray of sunshine, enveloped my face and filled my heart with all the goodness in this world. I looked next to me and Abhaas was staring at me. Well, so was I. It has been a thousand years since I saw sunlight bounce of this godlike face. He looked so handsome that I wanted to kiss him. Oh what? Nope. Hit him.

He broke my trans
“Want to go shopping? We can cook breakfast if you want.” He said.
Nice idea. I placed my hands in the pockets of this hoodie and found a volet.
“I happen to have money.” I said, waving the volet at him.

We went to a nearby market and grabbed few fresh fruits, veggies, bread and cheese.
At the billing counter, I gave him, his volet.
“Keep it,” he said.
“You are lucky I'm not one of those irritating girlfriends who just use their boyfriend's money as if they earn it themselves.” I remarked.
" Oh I wish you were.” I heard him mutter.

We were back home, cooking. Abhaas was making sandwiches, we had chopped some fruits and now I was busy making poha. The luscious green coriander leaves filled the kitchen with mouth watering aroma as I took off the lid.

In the next ten minutes, the table was filled with sleepyheads and hungry tummies.
We fed all, well, almost all. Because I didn't realize the quantity needed. Everybody was full, some undisciplined burps were proofs of that, but all the food was over and I hadn't eaten a grain. I was so busy toasting the sandwiches and serving fruits and poha that I didn't see the food getting over. I was way too tired to cook something again so I just gave up the idea of eating and went for a bath.

When I came out of the bathroom, I saw Abhaas, sitting on the bed with a big tray of sandwiches and fruit juice. He had bathed, that I could tell by his wet hair.
“You didn't eat." That's all he had to say.

I sat in front of him, throwing my wet hair behind, I took a bite of that hot sandwich and oh god the cheese and the cucumber and that chutney, this man is the god of chefs.
“It is insanely tasty." I complimented.
“Can we cook dinner together, please?"
Abhaas asked me like a kid asks for candy. I couldn't say no to him.

“You decide the menu, and it better be interesting.” I said. I wiped his face with a tissue and got rid of the juice mustache and bread crumbs.
“You didn't eat EITHER." I retorted and left the room.

We were in the car and going to this nearby place where Yash's friend was having a fundraiser. He was actively working to provide basic education to children from rural areas and had tie ups with various NGOs. This fundraiser was especially to build a school for kids. They had few target areas where the number of illiterate children was high. We had asked our parents to pitch in for the donations and were heading there to help with the program.

The drive was good 3 hour long and I was tired from the morning jog and breakfast cooking. On my seat were me and Abhaas, on the rear seat were Ulka, Nihav, Snehal and Kunal playing Uno. While the front seats were occupied by Tara and Yash in the driver's seat.

“Bro, tell me if you need to get off the wheel." Abhaas offered. Nihav had been driving for a long time now.
" You can take the return journey. As of now just remember the route because I'm going to sleep coming back.” Yash laughed.

I smiled but it was too difficult. Soon I saw my eyes drop and my conscious slipped into a nice comfortable sleep.

I heard few beats.

I heard heartbeats

They were a rhythm, a melody.

I could feel them against my ear.

Why is there a heart on my ears?

I opened my eyes. Slowly took into my surroundings.

The car wasn't moving.

The front seat was empty.

The heart was still beating.

I looked up.

A warm breath fanned my face.

It was Abhaas.

I was leaning on him.

It was him.

He looked adorable, handsome, inhuman in the most enchanting way. This proximity didn't feel weird, this was where I belonged. Why do I create a distance in us if this is the place I want to melt into?

I couldn't help but well up. I covered my mouth with my hand and gently rose up.
I turned towards the window and cried. Silent cries reverberating through my heart.

Abhaas was still asleep. The car was empty. Maybe we had reached, and they decided to go ahead. I could hear the kids chattering. They sounded so much like my childhood. My childhood, isn't it sitting right next to me? It is. He is.

Ahana he's trying really hard. He's waiting for you. What are you doing?
I gently touched his face, to make sure that this wasn't a dream. Because if it was, I hope it never ends. If Abhaas is there with me, be it dream or reality, as long as he's there it is just meant to be.
