I was standing on the skating ground with my pair of single line roller skates. After yesterday, I realized that life is too precious to waste on useless people. The couple of hours I spent on the kitchen counter dreaming about the days I enjoyed with Abhaas, I realized I enjoyed them because I didn't care what people said about me. I was happy as I was and Abhaas was always there to remind me how beautiful life is. If he knew what all is happening here, he would tell me to just let go off these worthless morons and instead live life and enjoy every second of this blissful journey.
As soon as I came to college, I spoke to the roller skating coach and scheduled the practice from today itself and that reasoned why I was here, trying to balance myself. I was doing pretty well with the wheels and the coach asked me what I was doing home all these days if I could've come here and practice this liberating sport. He said that for the remaining week at least, he'll just guide me to skate properly, move smoothly and fall safe.
The practice was over and he let us skaters enjoy for some time in the court before the basketball team came in at 4. So I had exactly 47 minutes to enjoy. I was sitting on the bench sipping some water. The other skaters were slowly packing up and leaving the court all for me to enjoy. I was still sitting on the bench when my phone rang. It was Yash Bhatta calling.
I picked up.
"Hey." I said.
"Ahana, I'm standing in front of your college."
He replied.
I looked at the time and it was barely 3:15. This guy is one hell of an early bird. I thought I'll meet him after practice but he's already here.
(Ahana- A, Yash- Y)
A: Well you are early and I'm wearing skates.
Y: Oh, did I disturb you in the middle of your practice session.
A: Na, na. The practice is over. I was just skating. Do you mind coming on the ground? It is to the right as soon as you enter the main gate.
Y: Sure I'll be there.
He arrived in the next ten minutes. This was the first time I met him and yes he looked good. He was tall for once, really fair and he had a lot of confidence on his face. The bold jawline framing his face made him look very sharp. His black hair were perfectly placed on his head yet, he had the casual ease with which he entered the court. He smiled at me but it resembled more of a smirk. Is he genuinely happy or making fun of me? No idea.
He walked towards me like a male model showing off his muscular arms and attractive physique. He deserves all the admiration in the world but he was smirking at me and I decided against the very idea of complementing him.
"So how many sores and muscle pulls?" He threw the question in my face. Is that the new trend of greeting people or is it specific to Yash Bhatta? Maybe Ulka is right after all. He is annoying.
"Nice to meet you too." I replied.
If I was expecting him to show signs of surprise or shock, I was disappointed. I just got another smirk in return.
"How long have you been practicing?" He asked.
"This is my first day. So 2 hours."
"That tells me how inexperienced you are when it comes to skating and I being your senior in this case have the right to guide you on the right path." He said.
"Seriously Yash you could just say that you skate and wish to teach me." I said and gave him a 'duh' look.
He came closer and asked me if he can hold my hands. I nodded and he held them infront of me and started pulling me further.
He gave me few tips as to how I should try and glide on the ground and not scrape it with my shoes.
"Now, I'll help you gain speed and then leave your hands. Let's see how you keep up with it." He said.
" Yash, I don't think that's a good idea." I replied all scared. I didn't trust myself with these shoes and to be left alone with them when they're running at the speed of 10km/ph, I'll end up on a hospital bed.
"Trust me on this. Come on now be the Supergirl you are." He tried to encourage me.
