(After 2 years)
Abhaas’ POV
I was sitting on the bench facing my office. The hoarding of the latest romance movie, 'The lovely lady' was shining by the building, causing my heart to ache even more from the memory of my love. The tie that Ahana gifted me last year what hanging lose from my neck. The chilling weather managed to numb my fingers but couldn't numb the feeling of longing that was inside my heart. It has been over a month since I last visited Ahana. These two years have passed by so slow I wish the next year goes by as fast as possible. Ishaan joined me on the bench, loosening his tie.
“Hey dude, what are you thinking about?” He asked me.
“We have come a long way, isn't it? " I asked Ishaan.
He nodded.
"Yeah , so many things have changed."
It was quite some time that Ishaan and I started investing in market, properties and businesses. Mr. Kulkarni, Ahana's dad and Mr. Sabnis, Nupur and Nihav's dad have been helping us a lot with business. They're helping it grow, and now we even have an office of ours, not very big but it is ours.
“How's your mom doing?" I asked Ishaan.
It has been quite some time since she divorced Mr. Mirajkar.
“She's doing great, remember I told you that she's at my aunt's for a few days?”
I nodded.
" Apparently she's helping aunt with their bakery. I'm happy for her, at least she's doing something on her own.”
" Nice to hear man, give her my best wishes.”
" Sure.” He said.
His phone started ringing, the sound slicing through the thick silence of this street encompassed by darkness of night.
“I'll get going.” He said.
“Nupur and I are going to have dinner together. I need to drop her back before twelve or Mr Older brother Nihav will come and kick my ass.”
He joked and left.
Soon I hear the engines roar as Ishaan left the area. How lucky is he to be able to meet his girlfriend everyday. I miss Ahana. I'm tired of this life now, I just want to grab her and kiss her with all my might.
I pulled out my phone and dialled her number.
She picked up and opened video chat.
Soon the devil who stole my heart was covering the whole screen of my phone, her hair were tied in a messy bun and her face was framed with those tiny flicks coming out. Only if I could reach out and push them behind…
“Heya how's my man doing?"
“Your man is missing you."
“Don't tell me you are working late again. Abhaas why can't you give some amount of rest to that body of yours? I swear if anything happens to it or that handsome face of yours, I'm breaking up with you.”
She held an angry expression for about three seconds before she gave in and smiled.
Oh that smile, I wanna wake up to it everyday.
“What are you doing?" I asked her.
“Well, I am preparing for the event that's due tomorrow. The banners are ready, the papers of permissions are signed and with me and most importantly, the participation list is overflowing. The event is going to be one of a kind Abhaas I'm sooo excited.”
Look at that happy face, that's all what is holding me back from going to Banaras and abducting her from this life. Success is gracing her like an old friend. She was appointed as the head of cultural department of the university and she has been working with over 50 people under her to make the cultural event a real success. She's hardworking, I know. But she's my love and I want to be there with her.
“Remember the research grant I told you about? My professor might get it and if she does then we 10 students will be travelling all the way to Gujarat to the recently found site of over 250 temples. They say there are over 30 Sanskrit inscriptions there and we can go research them.”
