"Ishaan! Hey wait you!! Mr. Ishaan Mirajkar you better stop right there." Ulka was on fire. We saw Ishaan cross the road and walk down the footpath. His body was tense, the same tall muscular build and the same handsome face. Just angry this time. As soon as he heard Ulka address him like that. He stopped. He turned and his face practically bloomed like a moon lotus.
"Is that you?" Ishaan asked. Yeah he's Ishaan, good looks and dumb questions.
He ran towards us and we both girls crossed the road before he could come running on the road. With his long hands, he hugged us both. He squeezed us like toothpaste tubes and I was glad I didn't have that smoothy in my system.
"First thing first, who was that lady and what was up with you and the anger?" Ulka had an urgency in her voice.
" I- I..." Ishaan was just blabbering. I turned around and saw Mr. Mirajkar's car pull up infront of the cafe. Oh god, is this what I think this is?
"Guys, HIDE!!" I practically pushed the two in the nearest building as Mr. Mirajkar's car sped from infront of us. The earlier lads that Ishaan snapped on was in the car.
"Ulka, I think we should go back to my house where there's nobody to disturb us and then discuss this in detail. I held Ishaan's hand and we three started walking.
                              _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
"Does that mean that Mr Mirajkar is cheating on your mom?" Ulka asked Ishaan as we huddled up around the breakfast counter in my kitchen.
Ishaan just nodded in reply. I can't even stand being in his state, ever. How deep it must've hurt to see your own parent cheating on the other. No wonder he was so angry.
"Ishaan, how long has it been?" I asked him.
"About 10 years!?" A dry laugh escaped his mouth.
"He was my hero Ahana, my hero. He used to work day and night so that he could buy me expensive gifts. He used to be on tours for weeks together and come back with a big present for me. He used to say he would work really hard and get a lot of money so that he is able to buy bigger games for me. Little did my younger self knew that he was busy working hard behind doors breaking beds, while my mom used to silently suffer."
                              Ouch! That hurt.
" Mom never complained. Never went against him or question him. They never had fights because there was nothing left to fight for. About two months ago, I found his photo in an online article with this lady at the cafe slung by his right hand. So the supposedly important business meeting turned out to be a party thrown by some Mr. Sabnis. That means, while my mother was spending her life taking care of our house and running errands, my dad was attending meetings with other women. Because of his insistence, mom never worked. She remained the loyal housewife while my father was out distributing love, creating extended relations."
" But Ishaan, the lady isn't the only one at fault. It is your dad as well. You cannot snap at her for being the other woman. If it was not her then it would be someone else. Fact is, your dad is a cheat." Ulka stated.
"I know. I'm not blaming her if that's what you are concerned about. I was asking her to help me catch him red handed. But she refused. Then I realized, why will she help me in the first place? She's enjoying all the attention and expensive gifts. She's cheating on her husband so technically she's better off like this." Ishaan finished.
I opened the freezer and pulled out a bottle of mango juice. We could all have a glass each to cool down.
I placed two full glasses in front of Ulka and Ishaan and returned on the seat with one glass in my hand.
"Does your mom know?" Ulka asked him.
"She's known for a long long time. But she's too afraid to even question him. She watches him from afar, weeps silently and then acts like nothing happened."
Oh that poor soul! I don't understand what's up with people breaking boundaries of married life. Why do you marry if you are not ready for the commitment and loyalty?
