•If I Ain't Got You•
Third Person
Winter hugged her mother tight as she refused to let her tears fall, she could not be seen weak not at a moment like this where she needed, where she must be the strong one.
Growing up, Seline had always cared for her children more than for life itself. She took care of them when they were sick, was there for every play or talent show they had participated in, and most importantly showed them that there was always someone to love them. She was one of them.
Seline was a remarkably strong and good-willed woman, never once did she cheat on her husband or look at someone the wrong way. She was faithful and loving, always taking everyone's crap but now? She let her guard down.
For once, she was not the caring mother and diligent worker that always acted soft yet tough around everyone. There weren't many times Seline cried but when she did, she always tried to hide it or at least not do it in front of her children.
"Ma, it is not your fault." Her daughter soothed.
She objected, "no it is, I should have given him more. Be more devoted b-but-"
Tears spilled out her eyes again as she pulled her youngest child closer to herself."No, mommy." Winter protested. "None of this is your fault. He is just not worthy enough for you."
"Are you sure? Did not seem like it when he told me that he has already filed a divorce so he can be with Lea."
Anger flared inside of her at the mention of that slut. First her brother, now her father? Just what was wrong with that girl?
"I'm home!" Noah yelled from downstairs.
Seline tried to stand up but Winter pulled her down again. She tucked her in and kissed her forehead, telling her to rest now.
Winter closed the door quietly before stomping down the stairs, "Noah!" She whisper-yelled.
She looked around and found him in the kitchen,
"Hey, sis. Woah, what's wrong?" He asked when he saw her distraught expression."It's mom. Do you know what John did?" She felt that the title of her father would not be right to use. He died for her a long time ago.
Noah shook his head, "no, what happened?
Winter glared, it wasn't directed at him but she just felt so much fury for the man, "he left mom-"
"What!"
"Let me finish. He left her for Lea."
"What?" He shouted. "Lea? My ex?"
She nodded.
"Oh my god, how is mom?"
His sister teared up and he immediately pulled her into his arms.
"You should have seen her, No." she sobbed. "She was devastated, crushed.""It's alright we'll get her through this, okay? Don't worry."
Winter let out a silent breath, the tears continuing to flow down her cheeks. Fortunately and unfortunately she had never seen her mother like this, she was not really sure how to react so she did everything that her mother always did to her whenever she cried or was sad.
A few moments later she broke away from her brother and let him move to his room as she fished out her phone.
"Liam?"
