12- confession

As I sat on a box watching Awsten's show, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

I opened the text and saw a picture of Leriyah kissing Nixie on the cheek.

moon.eyes.alex: SKSKSK IT'S SERIOUSLY HAPPENING

picture.perfect.eve: I KNOW

I got another text just then from Jack.

jackaboyamey: ALEX YOU OWE ME TWENTY BUCKS

moon.eyes.alex: I KNOW EVE JUST SENT ME THE PICTURE

jackaboyamey: FINALLY

moon.eyes.alex: IKR

I was so absorbed in my phone that I didn't notice Awsten walk off stage and look over my shoulder.

"What's finally happening?" He asked. I pulled up the photo Eve sent me and showed it to him.

"Holy shit, really?" I nodded. "Lerixie is canon!" he exclaimed. I quickly shushed him.

"I don't know if they've decided to go public yet, but still." I looked up at the sky. "I was actually going to fucking strangle them both if they didn't confess soon."

"Why is that?"

"Because they both talk to me all the time about how in love they are and would not take ANY of my advice. I was seriously ready to lock them in a room until they finally confessed. Thankfully it didn't come to that."

"Damn. I don't know either of them very well, but from what I've heard they seem like they'd be a great couple."

"Oh they will be. Pop Punk Power Couple of the Century."

"Is that a thing?"

"It is now."

"Well then, we have some competition, don't we?" I laughed, putting my phone in my back pocket and turning to face him.

"I guess we do. We'll just have to out-cute them." Awsten pecked my cheek.

"That won't be hard, you're adorable." He grinned.

"Nah, you're cuter than me." I dismissed the compliment.

"Why are you so bad at taking compliments?" He asked.

"I don't know, I just never feel like I deserve them." I looked down, embarrassed.

"But you do deserve this one, you're so cute!" I flashed him a shy smile.

"Thanks, Awsten,"

"MY HEART JUST MELTED OH MY GOD. YOU TWO ARE SO CUTE IT'S DISGUSTING." I turned to see Jack.

"Nice to see you too, Jack," I smiled sarcastically at him.

"Leriyah told me to come get you for the meet and greet." He looked back and forth between Awsten and I. "That is, if I'm not cockblocking here."

"Only a little. But I got work to do, so I'll see you later, Aws?" I turned back towards Awsten. He smiled and nodded.

"Remember, you're taking me to Disney Land."

"Disney Land is in California, I'm taking you to Disney World."

"You're still taking me to Disney." He laughed.

"Yeah," I smiled back at him.

"I think she meant now, Alex," Jack complained.

"I know, one second!" I turned back to Awsten and gave him a quick peck on the lips before turning around and heading to the meet and greet.

Awsten's POV

I watched Alex as they walked away from me. They were so happy and sweet all the time, I don't know how they could handle all that. Without feeling mad or numb all the time.

"You did good, Awsten." I turned to look at Geoff. "She's a keeper."

"Okay, first of all, they. And second of all, we're not even official yet."

"Well get on it, dude. We can all see you're practically head over heels for them, what are you scared of?" I sighed.

"I don't know," That was a total lie and we both knew it.

"I don't think they're like Ciara." Geoff said quietly, finally voicing both of our thoughts.

"You really don't know that, Geoff."

"Awsten, I think you need to-"

"I don't give a shit what you think, Geoff. You really don't know how much it sucked." I said, but it came out harsher than I'd intended.

"I'm just trying to help," Geoff put his hands up.

"Shit- I know, I'm sorry, but after her I just don't know anymore. I trusted her when I shouldn't have, I really don't want to make the same mistake twice." I looked down.

"It'll be okay, man. I trust them." I heard Geoff walk away.

"I really want to trust them," I headed back to the bus before anyone could see the tears building up in my eyes.

HOWDY I'M BACK

I'm really tired y'all the musical I'm in opens in two days but we're apparently supposed to get lots of snow tomorrow and if school gets cancelled on thursday the show is automatically cancelled and I would not fucking be okay with that.

Also I've decided that if this book gets up to 700 reads I'll show you all a video of my ugly face singing a Billie Eilish song
