As soon as Awsten got offstage and took a shower and what not, he immediately pulled me out of the venue and to a park nearby.
"Are you gonna murder me?" I asked
"Yes, you caught me. Now close your eyes." Awsten replied, straight-faced. I laughed, thinking he was kidding, but he continued to look at me expectantly.
"Oh wait, you're serious, okay" I realized, taking off my glasses.
"Is this good enough?"
"Nope, you can still see colors," I sighed and closed my eyes. Awsten stepped behind me and put his hands on my waist, gently pushing me forward.
A few minutes later, we finished walking.
"Okay, open your eyes," Awsten said, wrapping his arms around my waist. I smiled, finally looking around.
I gasped. There was a tree covered in fairy lights, and underneath it was a picnic blanket and basket. I turned to face my boyfriend.
"I love you so much," A smile took over my face.
"Well, yeah," He said sassily. "Of course you do," I laughed at him as he led me to the blanket and told me to sit down.
"Seriously though, you're the best, Aws,"
"Alex, I haven't even opened the picnic basket," Awsten grinned and pulled the basket over and opened it. "Peanut butter and honey sandwiches, sprite, strawberries, and of course, chocolate mini brownies from Costco."
"They're only good if they're from Costco. I swear, they've got wizards or something working there."
"Obviously. And of course, dippin dots." He grinned wider.
"Awsten, you are the absolute most adorable and perfect human being I've ever met." I beamed back at him. His beautiful eyes sparkled.
"Thank you," He said, blushing. Then he pulled me close, kissing me. But, something about this kiss was different. He kissed me slowly, working my lips with passion. I'm so hopelessly in love with this boy.
I could live in this moment forever.
He pulled away, allowing us to stare at each other for a minute, before he announced we should eat before the dippin dots melted. We did, and the rest of our evening together was absolutely perfect.
I woke up next to Awsten again, a sensation that I'd finally gotten used to. Wiggling out of his arms, I stood in our hotel room, remembering everything from last night. I smiled.
"Hey babe," I heard a raspy voice behind me.
"Hi," I turned to smile at my boyfriend.
"Come back." Awsten said.
"Can't, I have to get dressed."
"You sure you're gonna be able to walk?" He smirked, referring to last night's... activities. My face began heating up as I turned away, standing and grabbing my clothes before heading to the bathroom.
I came out wearing a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, one of Awsten's t-shirts with a thot knot tied in the front, and my white vans that I'd painted with the New York City skyline. Awsten sat on the bed, shirtless, scrolling through Instagram. My eyes lingered on my boyfriend's bare chest before a knock on the door shook me out of my trance.
"Identify yourself!" I called out.
"Jake from state farm." Nixie yelled back.
Awsten turned to me. "She sounds hideous."
"Well, she's a guy," I replied before opening the door.
"I heard that, bitch," Nixie laughed. "So, private hotel room? Did y'all fuck?" My face became even hotter.
"Y'all are never gonna leave me alone if I lie so, yes, we did," I sighed
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure?"
"Who topped?"
"Nixie!" I almost screamed.
"I did," Awsten held up his hand casually. I was shocked.
"I always knew you were a power bottom. You and Leriyah both."
"Wait, what?"
"You and Awsten weren't the only ones with a hotel room last night." Nixie winked. "Anyways, we should get going. We have to get home." I turned to Awsten.
"Unless you're taking me to the airport, this is goodbye."
"You'll just have to deal with me a little longer, because of course I'm taking you to the airport." I smiled at him and went back to get my stuff.
We loaded everything into the car and Awsten and I sat in the front seat, following the taxi that housed Nixie, Leriyah, Jack, and Mykie.
Our arrival at the airport was bittersweet. Since Awsten wasn't a passenger, he had to leave once we got to security.
"I'm gonna miss you so much baby," I said. I'd become very good at not crying, and I wasn't about to let that skill fail me now.
"I'll miss you too, doll," He whispered, hugging me tightly.
"Doll? That's a new one," I laughed.
"Yeah well, you're definitely as pretty as one," He grinned. I blushed for the millionth time that day, burying my head into Awsten's chest.
"I really have to go," I said sadly. Awsten pressed a sweet kiss to my lips and hugged me one last time, before we said our goodbyes and he left.
"Damnit, I miss him already," I sighed, pushing back tears.
"You really love him, don't you?" Jack asked quietly. "I haven't seen you this torn up over a goodbye since... ever," I nodded.
"I do," I took a shaky breath. "I do love him. Like, a lot." I laughed.
It's only been one summer and I already love him to the goddamn moon and back.
Okay hi y'all I'm so sorry for not updating for like a month but I kinda felt a mix of like, losing interest in this story and also just straight up writer's block, but now I'm here I'm queer and still filled with existential fear, so have this shitty chapter I guess.
Also this one was over 890 words I'm just really proud of myself for that
