Alex POV

Awsten intertwined his fingers with mine as we walked around the festival aimlessly. Neither of us seemed to care anymore if anyone saw us.

"So, my mom's visiting tomorrow and she's going to dinner with Eve and I." I said.

"Yeah?"

"If you think it's too early, you don't have to meet her,"

"I don't think it's too early," He glanced over at me. "I'd love to meet your mom." His smile is so perfect oh my god.

"You're so gorgeous this isn't fair." I laughed.

"Aww, you're gorgeous too, babe,"

I blushed at the nickname, pulling him to a stage. "Nixie made friends with this band a few weeks ago and she's been raving about them ever since."

"Who is it?"

"They're called Palaye Royale, I met them once and they seem really cool."

As the show finished, I checked the time on my phone. 5 PM.

"Oh, my mom's meeting us at 5:30, we should go," I realized. Awsten nodded and we left to go meet my sister and mom.

Awsten held my hand as we walked downtown.

"I like your hands." He said suddenly.

"Why?"

"They're really warm, and cute, and they can play ukulele and piano and hold a microphone and I just really like your hands."

"Really? What else do you like about me?" I giggled at how cute he was being.

"Your hair, because it's pretty and soft. Your eyes are beautiful and warm, like chocolate. And your voice. God, you're so talented, and it's like you don't even realize how wonderful your voice is. It makes so many people happy, me included." He beamed as he talked, looking at the darkening sky.

"Thank you," I replied. I didn't know what to say. Well, I knew exactly what I wanted to say, but I didn't want to say it yet. Awsten turned to me.

"You're welcome," He laughed, kissing me, cupping my cheek.

He pulled away, and we walked the last ten feet to the restaurant.

"Alex!" I turned and saw a woman waving frantically at me as she got out of her car.

"Mom!" I went over and hugged her.

"Where's your sister?" She asked.

"Eve should be here soon, we came separately," I explained.

"Who's your friend?" She gestured to Awsten.

"Mom, this is my boyfriend, Awsten," I stood beside him.

"The boy you were gushing about last week?"

"Mom!"

"Okay okay! It's very nice to meet you, Awsten."

"You too, Mrs. Lunar," He shook her hand.

"Oh, Mrs. makes me feel old. Please, call me Natalie."

"Okay then, Natalie," He smiled. Eve then ran up and dragged us into the restaurant, finally.

*timeskip*

Awsten and I walked back, hand in hand. Eve had to get back quickly, so she went up ahead, leaving my boyfriend and I alone.

"You want ice cream?" He asked.

"I dunno, I'm still kinda full..." I lied.

"Alex, you skipped breakfast and them had half a burrito for lunch. Then you barely touched the pasta you got. C'mon." I smiled faintly as he pulled me into the ice cream shop.

"What do you want?" Awsten turned to me.

"I said, nothing."

"So cookie dough?" I sighed and nodded.

He handed me my ice cream cone before taking his from the cashier.

"Thanks for making me eat," I said, knowing he just wanted to help.

"Of course, I just want to make sure you're healthy." He licked his ice cream.

"This just adds to the list of reasons why I love you."

"You love me?" Awsten asked. I blushed as I realized what I said.

"I, uh- yeah," I stammered. "I l-love you." I looked up to see him grinning from ear to ear. He stopped and turned to me, pulling me close and kissing me. I put my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss.

After a moment, Awsten pulled away.

"I love you too!"
