Our Future

chapter 3

Elena's POV
    I wake up to find Stefan's side of the bed empty. I sit us and rub my eyes. I look around the room to see my bathing suit and Stefan's swim trunks scattered on the floor. I cover my face with my hands and smile into them, remembering the events of last night. I reached over to the nightstand and grabbed a hear tie. I put my hair up in a slightly messy high pony tail. I went downstairs looking for Stefan, and I found him making breakfast.

Elena:"That smells amazing."

I made my way over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist from behind. I got up on my tip toes and gave him a kiss. I placed my chin on his shoulder and smiled.

Stefan:"Well bacon always smells good."

We laughed. He turned off the stove and turned to face me.

Stefan:"Good morning."

He cupped the sides of my face with his hands and placed a sweet kiss on my lips.

Stefan:"So how about I set this up real quick and then you can eat breakfast."

Elena:"Okay. On one condition. You have to feed, and before you say anything let me just remind you that it's the only way you'll get stronger plus you won't be dying of hunger all day."

Stefan:"Fine."

His response was full of defeat. Knowing I would win that conversation no matter what he said. I softly chuckled and gave him another kiss. After we ate breakfast we moved over to the couch so that Stefan could feed a little more.

Elena:"Ready."

Stefan:"No. I love you for this, but I'm so afraid that I'm going to end up hurting you."

I reached my hand out and placed it on the back of his neck. He moved his hand up and placed it on my forearm. He slowly grazed his thumb back and forth against my skin.

Elena:"Stefan, that's not going to happen. I trust you completely. You could never hurt me, okay?"

Stefan:"Okay."

I gave him a kiss for reassurance. He moved my hair away from my neck, giving him better access. Out of reflex I closed my eyes and leaned my head back and slightly to the side. Like always he placed a kiss on my neck first and then carefully bit into my neck. I gasped slightly at the three second pain, but that pain quickly turned into pleasure as Stefan began to drink my blood. Unlike other times, this felt like Stefan had added a bit more pressure to his bite. After Stefan had enough to go on for the day he pulled away.

Stefan:"It might hurt for a while I think I bit a little to hard this time."

Elena:"It's okay. You can just feed me a little bit if you blood and it'll heal."

Stefan:"Really? Are you sure?"

I chuckled at his surprise. I mean I kind of did surprise myself. I've never asked Stefan to feed me his blood for anything, not even an injury.

Elena:"Yes."

Stefan:"Okay."

Stefan bit into his wrist. I brought his wrist up to my mouth and began to drink, for some reason it tasted different from when Damon forced me his blood. It wasn't as iron tasting. Although it was still a bit bitter it was much better than when I drank Damon's blood. I heard Stefan's breath become hitched. Once I've had enough, and I feel the bite begin to close I let go. I looked up at Stefan and shyly tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. He wrapped his arms around around my waist and laid us back against the couch.

Stefan:"Now I know what you mean."

I giggled at his comment and wiggled closer to him. He places a kiss on my hair and tightens his hold on me.

Stefan:"I love you."

Elena:"I love you too."

We sat there for hours just enjoying being with each other. If I could I would've stayed in that moment forever, but we had to leave at some point. We gathered our things and headed home.

—At Elena's—
    When we got home I asked Stefan if he wanted to spend the night tonight, and he gladly took my offer. We walked in and saw Ric and Jenna cuddled up on the couch.

Jenna:"Hey guys, how was your weekend."

Stefan:"It was great."

Elena:"It was more than great. It was perfect. Thanks again for letting us go we really needed it."

Jenna:"No problem."

Elena:"By the way hope you don't mind but I asked Stefan if he wanted to spend the night."

Jenna:"That's fine. Oh and before you go, we wanted to know if you could help us with moving Ric's things."

Stefan:"Yeah sure. When?"

Jenna:"Well, we've got to sort some things out but maybe in like two weeks."

Elena:"We'd love to help. Alright we're going to go do some homework and then head to bed."

Jenna:"Alright, goodnight you guys."

Elena and Stefan:"Night."

I grabbed Stefan's hand and brought him upstairs.

Elena:"Should I take the first shower or do you want to go first?"

Stefan:"How about we go in at the same time."

He brought his hands around my waist and gently pressed me up against the wall. I smiled into the kiss.

Elena:"Okay but we actually have to shower."

I gave in.

Stefan:"That's perfectly fine with me."

I laugh as he guided us into the bathroom. We quickly took a shower and got changed. Stefan went outside to go get his backpack from the car, while I picked something to watch. When he came back we did some homework and watched an older but funny sitcom. After a while we realized it was getting late so we brushed our teeth and got ready for bed. As we lay there all I could think about was how happy I was with Stefan spending these last couple days together has been the best thing I've ever been through, and I honestly never want to leave his side. I close my eyes and begin to drift off to sleep.

    Hope it's good lol I'm going to do a time jump next so be prepared. Something big is gonna happen for sure though so be ready.
