Our Future

chapter 7

Elena's POV
    Jenna's jaw dropped. She was in complete and utter shock.

Jenna:"What?! Elena, we've talked about protection, and Stefan I like you. You guys are great for each other, but this..."

Jeremy:"Wait, how exactly..."

Stefan:"We don't know."

Jenna:"What do you mean you don't know."

Alaric:"Well vampires aren't supposed to be able to procreate."

Elena:"And that's why we want to talk to Bonnie to try and figure out how it's possible, but we wanted to talk to you guys first."

Jenna looked up at Ric and Jeremy. She turned her attention back towards Stefan and I, and placed her hand on my knee.

Jenna:"Have you planned out how your going to handle this. I mean are you going to have..."

Elena:"No. I don't want an abortion. We don't want an abortion. Jenna I know this isn't a practical situation, but I just can't, I won't."

Jenna:"Okay. I don't want to push you into anything, and if you guys say that you have this figured out I will support you one hundred percent. Speaking of what is your plan?"

Stefan:"Well we wanted to ask your permission if Elena could move in to the boarding house with me."

Elena:"I figured there isn't enough space for me, Stefan and soon the baby, so I could move into the boarding house."

Jenna:"It sounds like you've figured things out, but are you sure about moving in to the boarding house. I mean don't get me wrong. Stefan you're a good guy, and I love how much you love and protect Elena. It's just that the boarding house is sort of far. What if something happens?"

Her face had a mix of emotions. the biggest one being concern, but she still had a smile for the both of us. Just as I was going to say something we heard Alaric clear his throat.

Alaric:"What if you guys moved into the apartment."

I looked at Stefan and back at Jenna and Jeremy. They were all just as confused as I was. Ric noticed our confusion and huffed out a small chuckle.

Alaric:"My apartment it's still under my name. You guys could stay there at least until the baby's born. That way we're always around if anything happens, and when the baby's a little bit older you guys can move back into the boarding house."

Jenna smiled at the idea. I looked at Jeremy and then back at Stefan both of their faces mirroring Jenna's. With a smile on my face I looked back over at Alaric and Jenna. I gave Stefan's hand a slight squeeze.

Elena:"Sounds like we should start packing."

Everyone broke out into a fit of laughs. Stefan gave me small kiss on my temple. I began to feel sick again. I covered my mouth and managed to get a few words out.

Elena:"I love you, but don't follow me."

I made my way to the downstairs bathroom in a rush. Once I finished up I rinsed my mouth and headed back into the living room.

Stefan:"You okay?"

Elena:"Yes and no. Let's just say that I definitely won't miss the nausea and non-stop vomiting once this baby gets here."

I lazily sat down next to him and rested my head on his shoulder. He placed a kiss on the top of my head and wrapped his arms around me making small circles against my side.

Jenna:"How about I make some tea, and then we can talk about everything."

Alaric and Jermey followed Jenna into the kitchen to help her bring back everything.

Elena:"Are you sure you're okay with moving into Ric's apartment and out of the boarding house?"

Stefan:"As long as I'm with you, I don't care where we live. I don't want to miss a single thing, and this way neither will Jenna, Ric, or Jeremy. Besides all our friends will be near by, and we'll be right in the middle of town."

I giggled, and he laughed.

Stefan:"All I care about is you and our baby being healthy. Nothing else matters."

Elena:"I love you."

Stefan:"I love you too."

I leaned my head up and gave Stefan a small and slightly quick peck on the lips before everyone came back. When Jenna, Ric, and Jeremy came back we talked all about our plan moving forward.

Elena:"I was thinking maybe Stefan and I could move in next week. It may be a little soon but..."

I was cut off by Jenna's head shaking in a 'no' motion.

Jenna:"It sounds just fine. My only question is school."

Stefan:"At first I was thinking I could keep going until Elena has the baby, and then I could stay home since I've been through this highschool and college thing more times than I could possibly count. The good thing about that is that Elena would be able to focus a little more on her studies, college, and career, but I want to live our lives as normally as possible. Aside from everything supernatural I want to give the baby and us the most human life that I can."

I felt tears begin to build up in my eyes. Stefan was the kind of guy who wants to be there for his family, the kind of guy who wants to be able to support his family, and I love that about him. I turned to Jenna who looked like she needed a little more clarification.

Elena:"We can figure out a plan but that won't be for a little while."

We all laughed and continued to talk about our plans for the baby. Throughout our conversation I couldn't help but get excited for the baby. I have to admit I was scared at first but having everyone support Stefan and I was a big help. All we had left to do was tell Caroline, Tyler, Matt, and most importantly Damon. I didn't know how he was going to handle it but he was going to be an uncle he needs to know sooner rather than later.
