Stevie's POV
I can't believe that I'm going to be a mother. Tifani is doing so great, Meredith came back from her maternity leave just to deliver our babies, and we've been here for 10 hours. "Oh shit!" Tifani growls and I can see her finger knuckles getting white from the force she's applying while holding onto the pillow. "I can't do it Steph, I can't." She is so tired, and I'm starting to worry about their safety.
"Stevie, I need you to go outside and drink some water for me. I don't want you to pass out!" Meredith asks me, and I just follow her commands.
When I go to the waiting room, all our family is there. "How's she doing?" Simone asks me.
"She's tired, and she says she doesn't think she can do it." I tel them the truth, and Lisa asks me if she can go in.
"I think Tiff would feel safer if she had someone that works as a nurse, and is also part of the family." I just nod my head and go talk to Meredith, that agrees and says that she is going to talk to Lisa.
"You're doing great babe!" I sit in a chair by Tifani's bed, she's now trying to relax, knowing that another contraction is coming soon, they're now 3 minutes apart.
"Stephanie, I don't think I can do it! My hips are cramping, and I can't push anymore." She starts to cry, and I can see fear on her eyes. "If something happens, please save the babies!" She holds my hand tight when another contraction hits her, and doctor Grey comes into the room with Lisa, Mary Jane and Simone.
"I thought you would like to have your moms here with you!" Tifani's sad tired smile breaks my heart, and I know that she doesn't have any more strength. Mary Jane and Simone are one in each side of Tifani's bed, stroking her hair, and making sure that she's comfortable, while Lisa is helping doctor Grey.
"Sweetie, I need you to push, okay?" Lisa says, and gently strokes Tifani's leg.
"I can't mom! I don't feel my hips anymore, and my legs are cramping!" Lisa keeps talking positive things to Tifani, but I can't see that her face has changed, and now she's worried, too.
After 2 more hours, Tifani has not have done any progress, so Meredith and Lisa decide to come talk to me. "Stevie, we know that you wanted to deliver the babies the most natural way possible, but now Tifani's life is in jeopardy. If we don't deliver the babies soon, she can have internal damages, and the babies can die." Lisa is direct, and I just stand there staring at them. "I know you love them, but now you have to convince her to do a C-Section." She says, and as soon as she stops talking, all the machines ater to make a lot of noise, making hem three of us run inside the room.
The scene we see is devastating. Tifani shaking on her bed, Mary Jane and Simone are crying against the wall, and there's a lot of blood involved. "What the jell is going on?" I can hear Meredith say.
"Her heartbeat dropped super quickly and she started to have a seizure. We were trying to stabilize her, when we saw all the blood." A nurse said while trying to find a vein to apply some medication. He finds it and Tifani slowly calms down.
Lisa and Meredith check her dilatation, and just look at each other, to suddenly start to run inside de room. "Alex, call the OR an tell them that we need to take a patient down there for an emergency C-section. NOW!" I just watch when Lisa jumps onto the stretcher and they start to run with it to the elevator. I try to follow them, but another nurse tells me that they will come back and take me when she's stable.
I sit outside for what feels like an eternity, and all my family is trying to comfort me, but I want to be by wife's side. I feel a hand on my shoulder. "She'll be fine, Stevie!" Mary Jane says. "She's a fighter, and she has a lot to live still." She sits by me and holds my hand. "When I met her, and she went to live with us as an exchange student, she would just talk about you. About how you were amazing, strong, and how you were her role model. So it wasn't that big of a surprise when I saw the news about you two." She smiles. "I can't say that I wasn't afraid that you were just going to play with her, but when I met you I realized that you two were meant to be. Thanks for giving me grandkids!" She kisses my head and we all freeze when we see the same nurse showing up at the door.
"Mrs Nicks, it's time. Your babies are coming!" She says and I run to the OR with her.
After changing and getting ready, I go inside, and I see a lot of blood, looking at the table I see that Tifani is just now waking up. "What happened?" "She had an internal hemorrhage and an uterus perforation. We were able to control it, but we have to deliver the babies now." Lisa says and I just nod.
"Steph? What's wrong?" Tifani whispers, now awake enough to realize that she's not in the room.
"Hey White Dove, there was a little problem and we need to have a C-section to deliver the babies. Your doctor will explain it later, but now let's just wait to see our girls." I say and kiss her forehead.
"Here comes the first one." Merediths duas, and we can see when she shows us the first little girl. As soon as Meredith moves her, a loud cry starts to belt around the room, making the two proud mommies cry, too. "She's healthy and super loud! We will hand her to you in a few minutes. Now, let's focus on the other one that's coming."
After a few more minutes we hear another loud cry and we are relieved that our girls are finally here.

Tifani is now in the recovery room, so I decide to go give our family the news. Mick is the first one standing, he gives me a hug and I see tears forming in his eyes. "Congratulations new mom!!"
"Auntie Stevie!!! I'm so happy for you!" Jessie hugs me and I allow myself to cry. It was by far the most amazing/traumatic experience I've ever had.
"Excuse me, but I would like to say that you can all go to the room to see the babies." They all agree that I should go first, to see how Tifani's doing.
I knock on the door, and slowly open it. "Hey White Dove, is everything okay?" She has tears on her eyes, and she's looking outside the window. I sit on her bed, and hold her hand.
"Stephanie Lynn Nicks, I love you so much!" She gives me a kiss, and I can't control myself but moan . "I can't wait to see our babies." "Me either, White Dove. I still can't believe they were born 4 years after we first met!" I keep talking to her and making sure that she's feeling fine, and after I tell her everything that happened, a nurse comes in with the babies.
After a while just adjusting to our new family, we hear someone knocking on the door. When I open it, I see our family, around 20 people, enter our room in the most quiet way, just to meet our girls. They're in their cribs by Tifani's bed, so I push it and say. "Ladies and gents, please welcome Barbara Jane and Robin Lynn!"
